WoW Forever Cooking 1–300 guide

Choose a recipe for the meat or fish you already have, then check its ingredients before cooking.

Forever beta · Source checked 5 October 2026

A 1-300 Cooking route for WoW Forever: every trainer by race and capital, how the campfire kit works, where the Expert Cookbook and the Artisan quest come from, and several dishes for each skill band so you can cook whatever meat or fish you already carry.

Cooking does not use one of your two profession slots, so every character can take it. The dishes below mostly need drops you pick up while levelling; if you also want Fishing from scratch, follow our combined Fishing and Cooking route instead.

Everything here is read from the Forever beta client (build 70205). The beta stops at 225, so the Artisan bands come from the client's recipe data and the reference's untested Classic-derived draft.

Shopping list

Counts are estimates: once a recipe turns yellow not every craft gives a point. An alternative replaces its whole row, so buy whichever is cheaper on your house.

Skill 1-225

Cooking has no fixed shopping list: each band offers several dishes and you cook the one whose meat or fish you have. What you do buy are the spices and water, and only from Cooking Supply vendors near the trainer, never from the Auction House.

Material	Unit price	Line total	Alternative (if cheaper)
Mild Spices vendor Herb Baked Egg, Crab Cake, Dry Pork Ribs, Cooked Crab Claw, Crispy Bat Wing.	2 copperFresh · 2026-10-08 00:27 UTC	—	—
Hot Spices vendor Omelets, lion chops, deviled clams, Roast Raptor.	75 copperFresh · 2026-10-08 00:27 UTC	—	—

1× Flint and Tinder vendor Tool for crafting kits; not consumed, not needed to place a fire.	1 silverFresh · 2026-10-08 00:27 UTC	1 silver	—

Skill 225-300

Not tested on the beta. These three are the Clamlette Surprise turn-in, gathered before you travel to Gadgetzan.

Tools and supplies

Basic Campfire Kit

In Forever the campfire is an item. The kit recipe comes with Cooking at skill 1; craft a stack at home from Simple Wood (Flint and Tinder in the bag as the tool) and drop a fire from your bags wherever you stop. Other players can add their camp items to it.

Simple Wood

One per kit. Sold with Flint and Tinder by the vendor nearest each trainer.

Journeyman 50–150

Train Journeyman at your trainer before cooking on. Each band lists several dishes; cook the one you have meat for.

To train past 75, learn Journeyman Cooking (requires skill 50).

Any Cooking trainer sells it. Train it before you start the 50-100 band; without it skill stops at 75 and the rest of the batch is wasted.

Campfire kits

Three kits exist. The Basic Campfire Kit is a trainer recipe at skill 1 and holds 3 camp items. The Journeyman Campfire Kit (learned at Cooking 90, usable from 140, 5 slots) and the Expert Campfire Kit (learned at 200, usable from 220, 10 slots) need a Blueprint. Learning needing less skill than using looks backwards and may be a beta bug, but that is how the client reads today.

Mild, Hot and Soothing Spices and Refreshing Spring Water sit on every Cooking Supply vendor for copper. Auction House listings for them are a markup, nothing more.

Levelling Fishing at the same time?

Our combined Fishing and Cooking route pairs each fishing zone with the dish it feeds, faction by faction. Use it instead of this page if your Fishing is still at 1.

Camping starts here

The campfire is the hub of Forever's camping system. Any camp item from any profession can be added to a fire you place, and sitting by it for a minute grants those effects for an hour.

Camp items from this profession

Every profession adds three camp items, one per tier. Placing one at a campfire gives everyone sitting there its buff for an hour. How camping works.

What is tested and what is not

Route tested in the Forever beta up to skill 225.

Beyond the beta cap: taken from the client's recipe data, not yet tested in game. Applies from skill 225.

Route and counts are the community reference's estimates mapped onto build 70205 recipe data; TheWoWDB has not yet run this route in the Forever beta.
The client catalog records min_skill_rank = 1 for every recipe, so learn thresholds are not compared; yellow thresholds agree with the reference on every band, with the Smoked Desert Dumplings exception recorded as a conflict.
Trainer and vendor placements are from community references and have not yet been walked in the Forever beta by TheWoWDB.

Structure and placement facts were checked against a community Forever guide; every word here is ours. Recipes, thresholds, reagents, icons and prices come from the WoW Forever client and our own scans.

Learning recipes and checking the guide

Learn the recipe before buying its ingredients. The Forever profession reference reports learning instructions; we have not independently tested them in game. Source checked 5 October 2026.

If your skill cap blocks progress, check the linked training instructions before continuing. A recipe listed here may need a trainer, purchased recipe or quest that your character has not completed.

Ingredients and crafting relations match our WoW Forever 1.60.1.70205 client snapshot. Client records do not establish obtainable recipes, farming locations or drops. No craft-count odds or guaranteed shopping total are used here.
