TheWoWDB is a World of Warcraft database with a live Auction House economy attached to it. We cover Retail, Classic Era and MoP Classic, track the WoW Token, keep the PvP and Mythic+ ladders, and write profession and farming guides. None of it needs an account.
The game database
Items, spells, NPCs, quests, zones, dungeons, mounts, pets, transmog sets, talents and professions, read from the game client's own DB2 tables. When a patch ships we extract the new tables and the pages update from those, not from a copy of another site.
An item or material page carries the current price, a price history chart, supply depth, effects, drops, crafting uses, and the item's 3D model where the client has one. There were 19,065 of those pages on 2026-08-30. Zone pages sit on 208 map composites we stitched from the client's own map tiles.
The Auction House
We run the scanners ourselves against Blizzard's Game Data API. On Retail, the US feed is read every 15 minutes, commodities and every connected realm, and the EU commodity feed on the same clock. Blizzard rebuilds its auction data about once an hour, so a price on the site is at most about an hour behind the game.
MoP Classic realms in the US and EU are scanned once an hour. Classic Era realms are listed, but Blizzard does not publish Era auction data through its API yet. The day it does, the same scanner starts writing prices without a code change.
From those snapshots we build the realm price pages, the Cheapest Realm search, the Deals board, cost-to-craft on recipe pages, and the price history behind every item. A snapshot is not a live quote. Check the listing in game before you spend gold.
The WoW Token
The Token page shows the current price and its history for the US, EU, KR and TW regions. We record a snapshot every 15 minutes, on Blizzard's own price schedule, so the history is built from our own readings and not copied from anywhere.
Leaderboards
PvP: 2v2 and 3v3 Arena, Rated Battlegrounds, Solo Shuffle and Battleground Blitz, US and EU, with the Rank 1 and Gladiator cutoffs. PvE: the Mythic+ dungeon boards. All seven ladder scanners re-run every three hours, so no board is more than about three hours behind Blizzard's own.
Guides
Profession guides and farming routes, priced from the same Auction House snapshots, so a route's value is your realm's current price and not a number copied from somewhere else.
Where the data comes from

- The game client's data tables (DB2)Extracted from the installed client on each build. Names, tooltips, icons, maps and 3D models come from here.
Our own scannersThey write every snapshot into our database and keep the history that Blizzard's API does not.
We do not copy other fan sites. Every icon and piece of art on this page came out of the game files.
Who builds this
One person. Christopher Lucas, an independent developer in Las Vegas, Nevada, designs, builds and runs the site as a sole proprietor. In game he is Crypticelf of Moon Guard (US).
