Champions of Lei Shen

Having also posted guides for the various other rares in Pandaria, I thought I'd do the same here.

There are a total of 11 new rare spawns on the Isle of Thunder. You will notice that only 10 are required for this achievement as [npc=70530] is not included.

The location of the elites is as follows (awaiting verification):

Now we know the location of the rares, we know where to look! However I highly reccommend downloading the add-on NPCScan . Upon finding an NPC, this add-on will alert you with a warning sound, also loading a model of the rare & showing a targeting button. Essential. Also look into NPCScan Overlay. This will add visual markers on your map and mini-map.

N.B. - as of the posting of this comment, these add-ons are not currently up-to date for patch 5.2.

To solve this you will have to manually input the NPC ID Numbers. As already posted create a macro containing these, or simply type:

Now for the nitty gritty. We know where to find these rares and now have have the tools to alert us to their presence. Now we turn the respawn timers and amount of traffic.

Both of these are of useful in their own way and here's why:

• The respawn timer is more than just an additional peice of information. On the contrary it can be extremely useful. To state the obvious, it tells you the time and frequency of respawns. This crucially allows you to gain an advantage by knowing when is best to camp or search for this rare mob and can save literally hours of sitting around.
• 
  
• The amount of traffic is also a useful further bit of information which will affect the uptime of the rare and chances of finding it untagged. For example, in a busier area of a zone, expect the rare to have a very small uptime typically being found and tagged straight away - e.g. [npc=50356].

N.B. - as patch 5.2 is only currently being implemented as I type, I have yet to obtain these crucial bits of information but will update the guide as soon as I have completed the achievement & they have come to light

Until this information is added, you will just have to create a strategy to find the rares such as either camping for as long as it takes! Or patrolling the spawns at set intervals. Either way you should eventually get lucky and find the rare.

Here I will reccommened the use of a macro in order to give you the upper-edge alongside NPCScan . As follows:

/tar Goda
/cast Arcane Shot

Now obviously you change the NPC name to reflect the one you are camping and replace Arcane Shot with any class-specific instant-cast you have access to. Simply camp the desired location and spam your macro if you have itchy fingers or wait until NPCScan alerts you if you are more patient! However, the urgency of using such a macro is somewhat diminished by changes in the way these NPCs are tagged. Currently if someone has already taggged one of these rares, you can still gain credit for killing it if you begin to assist attacking the NPC. This will be of great relief to many as we have all been in the position where someone tags milliseconds before you - heartbreaking - but no more.

Well folks, hopefully that is enough to get you on the right track to completing this achievement.

Look back for updates as further information comes to light and I have had a chance to suss it out myself.
