Can you only battle the trainers once per day? This is happening to me unless I'm doing something wrong...

Use a Horde character for Kalimdor and an Alliance one for Eastern Kingdoms as it is seems some (or every) quests from those continents are tied to those factions.
These trainers+quests actually give decent XP I recommend using a non lv90 to do these battles
