Does anyone know if the Gnome racial will contribute to this? Any help is appreciated, I want to get this on my server.

Gnome racials will/will not benefit you depending on how you see the situation. Being able to buy or unlock the patterns 15 levels before other players can be seen as an advantage. However, the potential disadvantage is that you do indeed need to get 615 points in Engineering for your Realm First to ding.
