Rocketeer: Gold

I've made a video on how to complete this achievement:

Stop saying this is "easy". This achievement is not "easy" by any stretch. It's frustrating and annoying and if not for the toy I wouldn't even bother with the damn thing. It's not easy unless you've been practicing for a while. I've gone through 40 tokens today alone and I can't get under 12 tolls no matter what video I watch or what path I take. I realize I will eventually get it and I'll be happy when I do, but calling it "easy" and posting a video of how "easy" it is makes people like me feel like complete morons. If it was "easy" it wouldn't be an achievement with a reward.

And now for the helpful part of this comment: Practice. Practice, practice and then just for fun, practice some more. You'll eventually get it, but it won't be (nor should it be) simple. Mistakes happen, especially if you've been doing it for an hour and you're frustrated to no end by it. Take a break, do some fishing, come back to it. But the key to this, and indeed all the achievements associated with it, is just practice. Learn the route, run it without spending tokens (if you can remember where the traps/enhancements are). Keep trying. I haven't gotten it yet, I probably will eventually because I'm stubborn like that.

This comment i found on reddit made all the difference:

Some tips:
I was getting 12 tolls until I replicated the trick at the very start. Make sure you pass the starting gate to the right but take a hard left to track through that small purple box."

Pass, as in run around it and clip the corner of the starting box to start the race.

So I tried it... and something happened.
I actually left the first checkpoint having ONLY 4 TOLLS. And that makes all the difference in all of these races. If you don't make it out of the first check point at 4 you might as well give up.

I was ready to smash things after going through 60 tokens on this one alone and having a consistent 700ms lag with satellite internet on good day. But fear not, it is possible.
