The procrate is something near 7% I guess, with sword spect I was getting 3 "extra attacks" in a row, can't wait to see a fight with windfury.

Sold for 1250g to a Fury Warrior on Andorhal. People on my server wanted to pay 600g for this...

Got this some weeks ago from Steamvault Normal mode, been farming black morass för Lator's Shifting Sword and I finally got that one too. This is worth as much as Vindicator since it procs ALOT, I've seen it proc twice one swing many times, and with sword spec you would be surprised if you didn't get an extra attack for each mob/enemy you were hitting.

2 of these weapons combined with sword spec for combat rogue would own the dmg meters in raids with a couple of decent enchants. Then combine that with what i think is a meta gem that has the same effect, and the trinket, and you can have 2-3 windfurys in one set of swings XD onshot mage white dmg anyone?

Combat sword rogues benefit much more from a fast OH than this sword, because of combat potency procs (and to a lesser extend, poison procs and sword spec procs). So, Blinkstrike + Latros (or any fast sword for that matter) >> 2x Blinkstrike for combat rogues, not even considering the amount of luck and gold you would need to buy 2 of them.

Dropped in Shattered Halls off one of the rogues for a mage friend of mine, he won the roll (no one needed), and gave it to me for *free*...free being that I pay him till he gets his epic mount XD

One of these is up on the AH on my server. How does it compare DPS-wise to swords like Spiteblade or the gladiator main hand sword for a combat rogue? Does it really proc as much as people are claiming or are they exaggerating a little?

Just got this baby a few days ago, and having read about it, decided to make some tests. So, using procwatch and an item held in off hand, to just check hits from main hand, i came across the following results: 998 Hits 66 procs I was aiming for 1000 hits, BUT this is just an estimation, not the exact value, remember. So, that gives us about 6,6132264% proc rate, estimated 6,6% proc rate. IMO this is very, very nice, and remember that even though sometimes it might seem that it doesn't proc that often, it's due to it's 2.6 speed and the combined procs of sword spec (if you have it) for BOTH hands. So just grab yourself some haste buffs and a shammy windfury totem next to you and watch that DPS fly =)

Thanks for the info :) Procwatch only tracks white damage, which corresponds to your 998 hits. Did you use special attacks like sinister strikes during your test as well? If so the procrate may be slightly overevaluated.

Yes, i thought of that too, and i did use sinister strike, so i was thinking about a 5% proc rate, though if it is a chance on hit I don't think special attacks make any difference at all, hence the proc is correct. However, if it's a PPM, then there might be a little overevaluation due to instant attacks, and on that case, i'll aim for the 5% proc. Thanks for the heads up mate.

DPS Warrior will go insane but lost of stats. Flurry + Windfury totem from shaman + Haste buff + Sword Spec warrior 25/36/0... All proc.. wow... You will see a bunch of spam damage numbers on top of your screen.

Most items with procs like this are based on a "proc per minute" calculation, so the actual percentage proc rate is different for weapons of differing speeds. The percentage proc rate would be higher for slower weapons and lower for faster weapons.

@ thean. You're thinking too much. This weapon only has one speed.

Does anyone know if this stacks with Reckoning? Im a prot paladin and if i was to use this sword and then reckoning procs and then this procs, would that be possible?

Yes. The extra attack will proc off of a Reckoning extra swing, and a swing that also procs Reckoning.

You're not entirely correct. Reckoning does not proc of hits you *deal* but off of hits you *receive*. Therefore the weapon proc on this weapon does not proc Reckoning at all. It's all about being hit instead. However, hits made through Reckoning *can* proc the extra weapon swing.

@ mikezila. This weapon cant actually proc reckoning, because reckoning procs from taking damage, not dealing it.

Im a warrior, and currently I am wearing big bad wolfs paw, and aiming for Blazeguarde for offhand. Would this be a better main hand, then the paw? Thx in advance :)

Purchased on "The Forgotten Coast" (US) for 1500g. I felt it was a little steep, but then I heard people saying that they see it on their server for upwards of 3kg, 4kg, insane prices, and it sells every time. My advice would be to buy this if you have the money, because even if you can't equip it, you may be able to make crazy profits by selling it to a Rogue or Warrior with too much money on their hands. I won't be selling mine, though. My Rogue just got his final mainhand.

If you're a combat rogue and you're using a 2.6 speed weapon in your off-hand, you're definitely hurting your DPS. You're typical combat rogue should have 5/5 Combat Potency. Which has a 20% chance to grant you 15 energy on a successful off-hand strike. Assuming you don't miss at all with your off-hand, a faster weapon is still better than a slower one. It's not the actual damage from the weapon that matters, but the bonus you receive from it. I like the idea of Blink in your main-hand. But having Vindicator in your off-hand is kind of hindering your dps. As a combat rogue it's always best to have a fast weapon in your off-hand. Something around 1.50-1.80. Not only will it help with more poison procs, but the mis-rate on your off-hand is significantly higher. So you're actually doing more dps with more chances to hit but a lower amount of dmg. And I typically like Mongoose enchant for melee dps in main-hand, and if you have money or resources, mongoose in off-hand is good too. But if not, +15 agility is probably your best bet

You are totally wrong in part about "more dps with slower weapon in off-hand". Let me explain... All numbers not real and for instance: Imagine that you have 60 seconds and two off-hands wtih 100 dps - 1.0 speed and 2.0 speed. 10% miss chance. In these 60 seconds you can make 60 hits with fast off-hand and 30 with slow. Lets count miss chance. 60-10%=54 hits 30-10%=27 hits Slow weapon does 200 damage per swing, faster one 100 (dps on both is similiar). So total damage: 54*100=5400dmg 27*200=5400dmg

Yeah I had one drop so I bought a second one to see what it would be like duel wielding 2 of em. But I the other rogue in my raid, out dps's me with a blue off hand that is faster. You can offset this by not getting combat potency but I dont think you can keep up ur dps as much with a slower offhand. I would suggest getting a fast offhand like the merciless gladiators blade.

It's not just combat potency - it's poisons on your off-hand. Using instant or anesthesitic poison on your off-hand makes up for 3-4% of your DPS. Using a slow weapon cuts that in half.

Ive been trying to buy this sword for several weeks. No luck. Today 4/22 I was told to save my money because it is being changed from %chance to ppm. What would the difference be? Any with more information able to help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

One very important thing no one has mentioned about the proc. And that is, it can proc off instant attacks. Not following? Fury/arms build, with flurry/sword spec. Now, go out and spam hamstring, and drop a bloodthirst if you like. Trust me, I was doing this alot, before I specced to prot for raiding. It works, just be very, very careful when DPSing in instances with this setup. You can build alot of aggro before you realize it. Gangan, Feathermoon

dual wielding these + windfurry + hand of justice and sword spec can make for some really funny moments and leaves the other side scratching their head as to why they just died instantly. It gets even better when that kill is through prayer of mending. When fully buffed I get an extra attack from some source about every 2-3 swings. However, if you are going to run these hit rating will become your most important stat.

The image says 81.2 DPS but all the ones I have seen are 78.8 DPS . Has this sword been nerfed since it came out or is the stats getting ready to be upgraded?

It certainly doesn't proc as much as it used to, but I would still say it's comparable to the Aldor sword. It's the best sword you can get pre-Spiteblade (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28729) if you aren't Aldor, and it's certainly a weapon worth a Mongoose enchant.

5 minutes after my server comes back up from 2.1 maintenance and it drops for a fist weapon rogue in my guild. yoinked that from him, and less than a week later i get my second from a dagger spec rogue hordie who put it on the neutral AH for me! now i just have to get my rogue to 70. also anyone know of an add-on that tracks highest ammount of hits in one attack ? would be nice to see how much i can get when im dual wieldingthese

I think when u are raiding its better with more hit and ap. So, i decided that it was not worth spending 2.5k gold on a item u can buy for like 200g. All u need is to get exaulted with The Aldor, u can do it with quest or returning in Mark of Sargeras, Mark of Kil'jaeden. and Fel Armament. I got Exaulted fast! Blinkstrike is by far superiour over the Vindicator's Brand. Having it myself on a swordspecc-Hemorrhage rogue, with Arena offhand, I'm topping dps meters in most raids, when the other rogue with same specc is never coming close with the Aldor weapon. The procc makes up so much more dps, so if u want to be the best, I say buy it.

I have seen a rogue duel wielding this baby with mongoose on both and the proc actually procs mongoose also... its quite simply an awsome weapon and is well worth whatever price its on your AH for, My server Nordrassil EU has it up for 1200G normally but have seen it for upwards of 1700G

lol LAUGH DPS is the DMG OVER 1 SECOND... so that means the weapon speed has, per se, nothing to do with white DPS.... you can have a very slow weapon on off hand if it has higher dps than that of a fast weapon. BUT, for a rogue, blink strike on offhand is completely retarded, you gain substantially Less energy in the long run... for a rogue, sword spec is not entirely best. sword main hand isn't best because when using dagger or fist, you gain 5 percent more critical chance, which applies to your instant attacks, whereas the instant attacks like SS would not be inflenced by the extra attack from swords. critical strike=twice the damage=twice the attack, which makes sword speicallizationa and dagger/fist specialization have the same overall effect if we only auto attack and do nothing else. you have to see what you are using. you want a fast sword on OH which strikes more often and thus more energy overall which then translate into more instant attack damage. this is much more important than some 5-7 percent proc white damage. to optimize DPS, ideally you would use a dagger/fist on mainhand which have the 5 critical chance that applies to instant attacks and a fast sword which has a 5 percent chance to attack twice thus generate more energy in the long run, and that again translate into instant attacks. this is the optimal dps generation. but, to have both sword and dagger speicalization you waste 5 more talent points... please do not post information like BLINKSTRIKE IS SO MUCH BETTER, or things like i am on top of the DPS meter in a raid. when you are trying to evaluate effectiveness of anything, you have to make sure your analysis is stringent. if you are saying that you are using blinkstrike and other rogue is using vindi, then you must also demonstrate that your other equiptments are exactly the same to control the comfounding variable. you might be doing more damage becuase your 10 other equipments makes the differnece, rather than your sword alone made the difference... also, people post SS about how blink strike proc twice in a row... it's called random chance, meaning that is not significant or meaningful... if you can show under 10 minute that blinikstrke procs consecutively very very often, then that makes it significant and meaningful. i hope people understand that people who made up the skill trees know very well what they are doing, they would not make one "thing" much more powerful over another. one item is better than another only in certain usage and for certain purpose. blinkstrike would never be the BEST, if there is anything that ever becomes BEST absolutely and attainable by a lot of people, it will be nerfed.

Yes, that is the best Hemo weapon currently in game and most of the people that post on this forum will never see, much less own, one of these beauties.
