Blackskull Shield

I believe this is rated as the second most rarest shield drop, I purchased mine at the AH for 66g. Was it worth it I ask myself, hell yes, just nice to have the extra shadow resistance.

The trouble with this shield for its rareness and price, if looks nothing special, looks like someone super-glued a picture of a skull to a wooden buckler (you know the ones, they normally drop off level 6 boars).

I think in patch 1.12.2. The amount of 66g equalled about 7k gold in patch 3.0.8.

Closer to around 250 gold for wrath.

Its heartbreaking to see epics with such little detail and effort into design. I don't meant to rant or anything :P I mean its not like blizz intended these designs to be moggable in the near future, but still :/

I had one of these drop off one of the Bloodsails on the pirate ships in STV. Unfortunately, I didn't have the mod running so I can't tell you which one.

Dropped off of the Witch Doctor, near the graves, in ZF. This is a very nice shield.

I got mine from a snake outside the instance part of ST.

This is an awesome looking shield, and the first epic drop I ever got. It's exceptionally rare, and dropped off a trash mob in Zul'Farrak. I gave it to our tank though, because he's awesome.

I can't really agree on the rarity. Seeing as i see this shield on the AH all the time. At this very moment there are 3 of these shields up there.

This shield was worth what I paid for it on the AH simply because it was better (and looked better) than the ungainly Warbringer's Shield I had been using.

Dropped for me from a Hatecrest Myrmidon, on the Isle of Dread in Feralas. Pretty sweet shield :D!

Just got one of these things off a Owl guy in hinterlands, looks like a nice shield! but too bad im a druid :P now to see if I can sell it

This is a random world drop. I happened to see it drop off Gahz'rilla in ZF before realizing that it was not part of his loot table.

Dropped off an elemental in Searing Gorge, second ever world epic drop.

This doens't sell for nearly as much as it did a long time ago. Does anyone know what it Disenchants too?

Just DE'd this, Disenchants into 4x Large Radiant Shards

Why would you DE this when you can sell it for more gold than you will get for the DE mats!

Very nice shield, rare world drop. I found it drop off a trash mob at the beginning of Zul'farrak. I play a rogue on the server I looted it on, so I auctioned it. 150 gold on my server, not bad at all.

Just picked up this Sheild today. got it off the pirates South of Steamwheel in tanaris and i love it for my 41 warrior

Best on a Draenei Paladin, +10 shadow resist Racial paired makes a decent set-up. Warrior's can't really use spirit.

A warrior doesn't need spirit, but a warrior (tank, that is) DOES need 2163 armor and 36 block, which are both almost the double of a normal level 40 shield.

Also paladins don't have any use for spirit as of 3.1, it's a great shield for warrior also at this lvl. The armor rating is amazing.

Don't forget, trolls regenerate hp in combat. As a 48 warrior this shield adds 6 hp per second! (And there's nothing you can do about it!) edit: spirit no longer does anything for the warrior class, but that does stop us trolls from regenerating small amounts of health!

Got mine from a rare ogre named cyclok the mad in dunemaul hold located in western tanaris. they say on this site he dosent drop much but guess i was lucky. It works very well 4 my pally, all 2163 of it

I really want this shield but theres one in the AH on my server for 325g! what a rip idk if its just my server(Haomarush) or the person is just retarded!? could someone Please tell me the easiest way to get this?

The seller obviously knows their economics. Awesome block value and armor, level 46 epic shield, second-rarest shield drop (according to the first poster). Your best chance at getting it is to buy it.

I was killing Sprite darters in Feralas for Natural Materials and was REALLY surprised to see this drop since I didn't even see it listed as a creature it drops from. Love it on my pally though :) And he Sprite Darters are non aggressive so it wasn't even a trial killing them XD

I just got mine off of a wolf in Felwood. Nothing elite or hard to kill just random.

This is a nice shield for a Protection Paladin who is just hitting his 40s but i would recommend getting Wall of the Dead if you can. It is only 4 levels higher than this one and it has more armor, more block, 10 MORE stamina and 10 Strength, not to mention a pretty sweet proc. Slap a +18 Stamina Enchant on the Wall of the Dead and your set until you can get TBC quest items.

this sheild droped right outside of sunken temple and i waz lucky enough 2 win it and since im a tank its was very useful to me. i liked everything about it even though i didnt really need the +10 spirit but the 2163 block was the best.

This was my first world drop higher than green This was my first epic to drop at all So it was very important to me. Got it from one of those big rock golems in maraudon (not the ones who look like landslide. The ones who patrol maraudon etc). When I saw that it dropped I was "Omg, an epic world drop!" Too bad it sucked. I mean, spirit on a shield? Warriors don't use spirit, paladins don't use spirit, shamans don't use spirit (despite popular belief that it does). Death knights don't exist at that level and even they don't use spirit. Why is the spirit there?

DKs cant even use shields. I found this, sold it for 200g. Not sure why you're complaining. Its purple, therefore people buy it.

ok course Paladins and shammies use spirit. it's called mana regeneration, and as a healer it's a valuable stat. and if anything, this is a healer's shield.

Just dropped on my Paladin while doing They Grow Up So Fast. I was pretty disappointed; two world epics while doing that quest (and Hammer of Northern Wind) and in my opinion they both could have yielded alot more. I'll edit when I sell it. If this is the 2nd rarest shield, what's the rarest? Edit: Just sold for 66g on Darkspear. (I know my account says Dalvengyr; that's my Alliance character. I play Horde now).

I just bought it for 400g...feels like a rip off but dammit 2k armor is lovely.

It just dropped in Maraudon Pristine Waters for me off trash mob. I hit NEED on my warrior but don't want the spirit so I sold it on the AH for 250g. Hope it makes some pally happy!

Now that healing pallys and shammys benfit from spirit, this shield is still pretty bad.

Why would someone buy this for such an expensive price off AH, won't last for many levels anyway...

Just had this drop off [npc=2937]. Being the idiot I am, I thought this guy might drop more cool stuff... nope...

(Edit: writing in patch 6.1.2, this issue appears to be resolved). Sheaths upside down on my gnome. Bit disappointing - if that's the kind of thing that would bug you, be wary if you play a gnome!
