Though this bow might be overlooked because of it's lower damage numbers (51-96) as opposed to other rare bows that can be gotten for hunters in their high 50s, it is actually my preferred bow of choice above the other 55-60 blues.

The reason for this is it's attack speed. Currently the only other bows within the game that can match its 1.80 attack speed are the Grand Marshall's Bullseye (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18833), and the High Warlord's Recurve (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=18835), both epic PvP bows.

It's a known fact that if a hunter lands high damage shots or too many crits on a mob, he or she will have a better chance of pulling aggro on the mob, thus pulling their target off of the one tanking it. However, with this bow you are doing the same amount of DPS as, say, the Outrider's Bow (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19558), but it's spread out over a number of smaller bursts of damage, so there's a lesser chance of pulling aggro due to burst damage.

Additionally, if one maxes out the Improved Aspect of the Hawk (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=19556) and Serpent's Swiftness (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=34470), as well as using Rapid Fire(http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=3045) when IAotH procs, I've personally experienced attacks speeds of around .8 if everything is timed right.

Of course, all those arcane shots are going to cost you some mana. I can get down to .8 attack speed with a 2.8 speed bow, myself, using rapid fire, quickshots, berserking, and a haste trinket. I wouldn't overlook this bow, however. It is fairly decent.

On the list of priorities for Hunters, agro management is dead last. FD is up every 30sec and its a complete agro wipe. Hunters should be more concerned with speed in relation to shot rotation: too slow and there aren't enough auto shots to fill the gaps between abilities. Too fast, and auto shots are wasted.

"On the list of priorities for Hunters, agro management is dead last." Until FD is resisted by a ?? level, which happens often. Feign helps tremendously in controlling threat on a target but it's not reliable unless you take one of the badly done talents to help reduce the resist chance.
