only time you can get this is during the holidays/Christmas festivals. you must go do the quest chain about the evil snowman.

I personally think this is a useless device. December of last year, I bought around 500 snowballs and sent them to one of my grunt toons. I think he still has around 400 of them or more. I don't see why anyone would want to take the time to create one snowball every 24 hours.

Agreed, this was a pretty disappointing device once I actually made it, but it's still a pretty cool gizmo to have around due to its rarity.

But like Truenos said, it's easier and cheaper to buy a ton of snowballs from the vendors. I still have them from Dec. 2006. It is fun to throw snow at people in the middle of July, though.

The companion pets no longer require snowballs. Hurray! That makes the recipe even more useless :)

I'm guessing they're saving "9001" for if they ever introduce an "upgraded" version later on.

Engineering is awesome because it is Engineering, not because of JUST this :P. Nitro boosts,rocket gloves, mounts, parachute, wormhole generators, teleporters, and more. Who WOULDN'T want that?

I think the only reason to have snowballs is for money. Buy a bunch and load your bank, then wait till 2 months after Christmas then sell 20for 4g. That's the thing this is good for, make them instead of having to wait a long time for Christmas

You can also do the daily quest in the Storm Peaks to get the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=44751]spoils[/url]. They drop so often it would be like having 1 or 2 per day.

You do not have to be an Engineer for [item=17720] to drop. However you do need to be an Engineer to learn it. You can either sell it in the AH or give it away to someone that needs it. It just dropped for me in a [item=21327] from [quest=8769] and I'm an Enchanter and JC. [item=17720] also drops in [item=17726] from [quest=6984]

If it's not obvious, you have to learn the schematic on an engineer and then make the item that becomes a toy.

I'm sure this a reference to a great weapon of Doom 2.
