Flipper Fish

Obtained from fishing in a [object=373439] in Zin-Azshari, Nazjatar at /way #1355 72.8 24.3. The school only appears for those holding [item=187662] and not already holding [item=187922].

It will initially loot [item=187920], which then "slips away" and spawns [npc=182202], which you must catch as it flops about by clicking on it to get this item.

[b]Don't bother running around after it trying to catch it, just [u]let it come to you[/u][/b]; after you've pulled it out of the water, step away from the water a step or two (toward the fish which most likely went behind you), and wait until it gets close to you. The instant it's within your clicking range, click and collect -- if it gets too far from you during your collection cast, you'll get an error and you'll have to try collecting it again. I've found it's much faster this way!

Omfg I'm glad I found this I was getting so frustrated. I don't understand why having to hold the strange goop is a thing, I got the goop on my priest but I didn't have uniting kul tiras finished on that toon and so I couldn' t access Nazjatar so I did it on another toon that was closer to friendly on each rep and then after finally completeing that I couldn't get the flipper fish. Good thing I can send the goop to my warrior so I can get the flipper, if not I was going to lose my *!@#. It took me 7300 attempts to get the goop. Then had to do uniting kul tiras. Unbelievable.

Part of the items required to craft [item=187923] which Is required to make [npc=180978] Emerge The player Triggering [npc=180978] with [item=187923] is guaranteed a [item=187676] to drop on kill.

To obtain a [item=187923] you need to fish up [item=187662] from Hirukon's pool /way 52.6 75.0 Dropchance is quite abysmal, probably around 1/1500 according to my experience and the people I've talked to.

Once obtained to go [npc=182194] in Maldraxxus /way 57.6 92.0 She lets you know that she can make a lure if you bring 3 materials. [item=187915] [item=187922] [item=187916]

[item=187915] can be fished from a school inside Coilfang Resevoir in Zangarmarsh Outland /way 52.2 37.9

[item=187922] can be fished from a school in Nazjatar, when caught it slips away and you have to barbaricly catch it with your bare hands. /way 72.8 24.3

[item=187916] Is found in Shimmering Expanse, the subzone of the Cataclysm zone Vashj'ir. Found in the lower ruins on a balcony, and can be very hard to see. /way 34.7 75.0

Return to [npc=182194] with the materials and she'll make an [item=187923]

Apply the [item=187923] once at Hirukon in Zereth Mortis, and you'll be able to see an Aurelid Cluster. Fish in it to trigger Hirukon to Emerge.

*IMPORTANT* - The mount will not drop if it is not your first kill of the day. Killing Hirukon when someone else triggers him, will lockout looting the mount until next reset. So if you obtain the Lure, don't use it until the next day if you've already killed Hirukon that day.

Grats on your [item=187676]

To clarify the location of the Coilclutch Vine, it is located on Nar'shola Terrace. If you are down even further like I was, your location will be "Ruins of Vashj'ir" and you'll see an expanse of rectangular, balconied ruins. You're in the wrong spot. Just ascend upward until you're on "Nar'shola Terrace". Head to the waypoint and it'll be on the circular balcony near the corner.

When you're fishing in the pool, [b]make sure to stand on land[/b]. Do not fish standing on water with water walking abilities. Otherwise the Flipper Fish will fall to the bottom of the pond, and you won't be able to click it.

As with the other fish, these are unique BUT you can catch and sell to vendor and catch another. Just remember to go to the mailbox, buy them back 1 at a time and send to another toon on your account. This way you can have multiple ready to go for the next week.

I skipped a step in Lordluthar's suggestion and just used [item=156833] after catching my first fish, and then proceeded to send each fish I caught to an alt :)

If you don't want to fish for the low drop chance, you can buy [item=187662] on the auction house. Prices will vary based on servers. I have seen it for 200k on some servers and 400k on others.

You can also buy [item=187915], [item=187922] and [item=187916] on the auction house, but I do not recommend it as they will be overpriced and these items are easy to acquire once you have the [item=187662].

Also, remember when using the lure [item=187923] to have graphic settings on high and [u][b]make sure it's both your first time looting Hirukon for the day and first time using the lure for the week in order to get the mount [item=187676] [/b][/u]

i appreciate all the tips :) [b]Needlespine [/b](rare crab) lurks at the bottom of a waterfall & the Flipper Fish i caught was up at the top of that waterfall - so if you find Needlespine, fly up top to find the Flipper Fish School i wouldn't wanna be the flipper fish that falls down o_o

How I got to Nazjatar on an Alliance char that hadn't been there before. I did not have friendly reputations with the Alliance factions of Kul Tiras.

1. Bronzebeard questline (Heart of Azeroth) - Talk to [npc=154464] - Go to Silithus through portal in the portal area of Boralus. - Do the questline with Bronzebeard and go back to boralus through portal

2. Uniting Kul Tiras - Take quest [quest=51918] from [npc=135612] on the ship ( this quest was not available to me before doing Heart of Azeroth questline in Silithus) - Do that short questline

3. Nazjatar intro - Talk to [npc=153932] on ship and take [quest=56043] , I did the questline up to [quest=54972]. The area is phased until questline is complete. You can now take a flightpath closer to the area it spawns.

I don't know if things have changed, but after doing just the intro to Zandalar to get in the right phase, I was able to directly take the Send the Fleet quest ! So don't bother doing steps 1 & 2, directly do the Nazjatar Intro (once you've done the Zandalar / Boralus intro)

To get there You need to swim down through the pipe to Coilfang Reservoir ( is the way how you getting to RAID [zone=3607] ) 2. [item=187922] - Can be fished in Nazjatar 73.1 24.2 ( to get to Nazjatar use portal in stormwind to Borlaus then portal to Nazjatar ). Fish it up from [object=373439] then you need to catch it from ground xD. 3. [item=187916] - You can pick it up from [object=373438] located in Shimmering Expanse 34.7 74.9. To get to Shimmering Expanse use in Stormwind to Vashj'ir 73.9 74.9. [object=373438] is located in 2nd level of underwater structure. After collect 3 items fly back to [npc=182194] 57.6 92.1 in Maldraxxus. [b]Step 3 [/b] Take [item=187923] to Zereth Mortis 51.8 74.4 and use it, [object=373441] will spawn when you will fish on it [npc=180978] will come up. After kill you have a chance to get [item=187676] and [item=190005 bonus=6935]. i get 2 [item=187662] and take me 4-6h of fishing to get one. [npc=180978] is a part of [achievement=15391].
