This would be a fairly good weapon for a dps warrior with the +strength and stamina. Also, the fire resistance is good for endgame and the critical strike increase is a plus as well. Might be worth the mats if it is a big upgrade, otherwise if your guild can down most of the bosses in MC you might want to wait for something else depending on your specc.

very confused weapon the strength screems warrior / retadin but the speed makes it bad for high dmg MS crits alot better weapons could be found with a better damage range it could be hunter fiable due to crit and stamina both which benifit all melee classes really. so honestly i dont really know the mats are pricey (Well were pricy pre BC even now im sure) so its a waste really.

Not a bad Polearm for 2h Fury Warriors. It's 2.10 weapon speed plus Flurry should work nicely. An all around solid (and rarely seen) weapon.

The stats on this item make it a very good choice for an offensive warrior at Molten Core gear level. The fire resistance is an added bonus, as few weapons have any sort of resistance on them. However, this weapon is too fast to be practical. A warrior would be better served with the [url=?item=19874]Halberd of Smiting[/url], for example. With the Burning Crusade expansion this weapon is made entirely obsolete. The [url=?item=24044]Hellreaver[/url] can be obtained as early as level 58 with far less effort, and is superior in every way.

I just made one of these, and am very, very happy with it.

However, it should be noted that I initially misread the attack speed...and found that it was hitting more rapidly than my [url=http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25146]1h sword[/url]. I also own the fastest polearm in the game, so I got to wondering...and sure enough, it's the second fastest pre-wrath polearm in the game.

Interesting polearm this is, str instead of agil, so it`s not a hunter weapon and 2.10 is a bit fast for warriors and palas .

Indeed a very weird weapon because of the combination of stats and speed, however quite interesting for feral druids because of the strength and FAP (1.2*109AP + 2*35)*1.1 = 221AP in cat form (plus 1% crit), if it wasn't for the updated gear from Outland and heirloom vendors. In comparison, http://www.wowhead.com/item=48718/repurposed-lava-dredger provides 1.1*(1.2*184AP + 25 + 34) = 308AP, 23 extra stamina, and almost 4% armor penetration at level 60. This was made during a time when Blizz just wasn't quite sure which stats and weapons should go with which class. My comment was previously stupidly purged. Due to the low demand on the thorium veins in Burning Steppes, it seems rather straight forward to get the mats, and I am still very very glad I made one of these.

Im usin a polearm on my DK (yes its different but works) and I think this would be the weapon for me but im not sure HOW hard it is to get (or make). i was also wonderin if its stats (for a polearm) are good for my DK if i want a slower, hard hitting weapon or a fast weapon. Not for DKs, but for another group of folks... Since the "pvp-xp" system, there has been a rise in numbers of a certain bracket of twinks. Roll a toon on an account without BC or WOTLK, stay at lvl 60, and you can stay a 60 and not worry about leveling up or being in a "no-xp-twink-only" bracket. Yah the only thing you can really do is AV, but I have seen alot of these "twinks" lately. That being said, this ranks #4 for dps on a BoE lvl 60 item. Well first of all.... this is a level 60 polearm, from pre-BC..... So why the hell would you want it in patch 3.2 for your DK? So he can use it for about 3 levels before you find a quest reward or instance drop that is better? You should not be so concerned with gear at this level, especially gear that is a pain in the ass to obtain. The only real craftable items you should be using is stuff that either you can make yourself, or have a guildie or main/alt that can create it rather easily. I actually had one of these made for my Warrior at 60, due to my endless experimentations. I tried many different gear/spec/enchant/weapon combos and my absolute favourite for level 60 was 2H Fury... which is something a few Warriors had a bash at back in the day, but is all but forgotten now. This was the best weapon I ever used for the spec due to it's insane speed for a 2H and excellent stats. I have never been afraid to try different or unusual specs and I still do to this day. I have never been one for "cookie cutter" stuff. Sure, there are some things you just have to stick to, but Blackfury was definitely an exception in my book. :-) I made top of the damage meters frequently with this thing.

I still miss 2H Fury and the community around it. It's nice that this item has some connection to the past through its unusual swing speed.

This weapon also sported 10 FR, while not much, it is basically a freebie since not a lot of weapons had it. For people gearing in MC, it was just that little bit extra which added to your soft-cap, or even put you over (Which was never really a bad thing) These days, the mats are generally cheap, with the dark iron bars being the biggest expense because of the time it takes to make them. It'd probably be a cheaper option than BoE world drops like [item=647], and much better. With the ease of getting the required rep for Thorium Brotherhood, there's few excuses left for Blacksmiths not to have these recipes (Though in saying that...most wont)
