so annoying to farm this one. Can not even track when the even starts because its between 1-2 hours when the storm's fury isn't on. Seems like the best way to get it is to create second wow account and have it opened on second monitor and sit on pc 24/7 (: im kidding. Just want to explain how annoyed is to get it. GL to all who farm this

I just had this drop on a non-JC, level 66 guardian druid it was a little difficult to solo the event, but quite doable as a tank

it's always up right when the storm's fury event ends, so just wait for that you may need to zone in and out or relog for the quest/event objectives to appear - make sure you do so

This was incredibly helpful. I went back at the end of the time for the Storm's Fury event, waited a few minutes for the chest to spawn, one of the folks in the cave kicked off the event, we defeated all the waves, looted the chest, and I got the design.

GrayPard+24via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I believe I have found why it is despawning. If you are doing the event, and it doesn't say Stage 1, Stage 2, or whatever it's on, you won't get the chest at the end. So if that happens, get out of the cave, get out of combat, and fly halfway across the primalist future. After that, turn around and fly back. When you're almost there, it should say in the middle of your screen "Stage X", depending on which it's on. You will then be able to loot the chest when the event finishes. I have tested this theory, and it seems to be true.

Event: Trial of the Elements Chest: Chest of the Elements Pattern: Design: Ring-Bound Hourglass /way #2025 59.85, 82.27 (portal to primalist future) Thaldraszus /way 29.30, 25.97 (cave location inside primalist future) Spawns every hour If "storms fury" event is up (it lasts 2 hours) then this chest event won't spawn - Note that even if you complete the storms fury event that dos NOT mean the storms fury event is not up. It lasts for 2 hours in total. IE you do the event in first 15-20 min it will still take another 1 hour 45 min or so before the event is no longer active. You can use an alt to see if its still up after completing or you can look on front page of wowhead to see when its over Because the chest event is phased during the storms fury event it WILL NOT spawn. Therefore as soon as the storms fury event is over the chest should appear so be at the cave as storms fury event comes to an end is best time to get it without waiting without knowing when it will spawn. Warning: If your waiting at the cave during the Storms Fury event for it to finish be aware you'll get stacks of a freezing debuff which will dmg you more and more. The freezing debuff stops once storms fury event is no longer active So you'll know the event is up several ways. 1. If you have not done the event previously you should get a notification of the event if your in the vicinity and the event starts 2. You should see brown and white swirlys on the ground during the event (even if you already completed) 3. You should see a chest icon with triangles or whatever around it on your map 4. You should see the chest with the lock on it inside the cave. 4 stages Click the locked chest to start the event. Phase 1-3: spawns swirlies on the ground you'll want to try to avoid spawns waves of elementals to kill (some elite ones i think but hard to tell with amount of ppl killing them too fast) Phase 4: spawns a mini boss, Therrocite then the chest is "unlocked" and lootable - During the event the chest looks ghostly or like icey mist is covering it along with a ghostly chain around it You can only loot the chest/do the event once per week. Script to see if you looted chest this week on that toon: /script print(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(71995)) ***Despawning If the event is active but you don't see the "stage 1,2 3 or " thing then its bugged and you won't be able to loot the chest (or you've already completed the event and can't loot the chest again till next week). If that occurs try quickly flying away into the shielded dome area (with the vendors and stuff where you ported in at) then back and it should then appear and let you loot the chest at the end. Don't need to have Jewlcrafting to loot pattern so can farm this on alts Can do the event on characters below lvl 70

Is there any reason why the value of this recipe is dropping massively in the last few weeks? The obvious thing is that 10.2 is getting close, but is it gonna be useless then? Because after 10.1 came the value recovered really well.

sirloper+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Since 10.2 I haven't seen this drop. While it could just be bad luck, I have been doing this event for months as a source of income and typically get at least one drop per week across the 15 characters I do it on. But since 10.2 I haven't gotten any at all. Anyone know if they've simply dropped the rate to improve value or possibly made it only drop for JC? Just looking for validation it still drops, if it does.

I find the event tends to bug out a lot more often whenever I try doing it right after storm fury ends, the event starts but no event/quest log on the right to indicate it is active, i usually just log out at this point when this happens xD. Try doing it during 3hr cd timer for storm fury, i never get the bug during this time.
