With a fire damage potion the Flaming Cannonball can crit for 100!
Did anyone notice that there are 3 barrels in the icon?
This gun is one of two that shoots Hands.
- Dwarven Hand Cannon
- Upgraded Dwarven Hand Cannon (The extra barrel makes you pro)
Happy hunting.

well... this thing does absolutely nothing for melee dps. you would be much better off getting something with strength, agility, or stamina. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19107
- Bloodseeker
- is very good and obtainable at 51.
This looks like the weapon used by the dwarf on the original WoW box, they have the same graphic design and the one on the box is shooting a flaming cannonball. Either that or Shell Launher Shot gun
I don't know if its because I'm a beastmaster hunter (and my attack speed with this weapon is 2.14 (1.86 with Quick Shots) but its procs like crazy. At least 2-3 times per pull, like as often as 1/5 shots for me. No, there is no flaming cannonball graphic that flies from the gun, but theres a fireball impact explosion from the bullet, which I think looks pretty cool in my opinion. I got this weapon for 80g, 2 days after I found a Kang the Decapitor and sold that for 300g. I have no complaints, I plan to cruise to outland with this gun.
Why thank you for the complete and utter useless information.
Only 1 or 2 BoE epic ranged weapons higher level than this and those are still very rare to see hit the AH. I currently use this one on my hunter. If the price is nice, highly recommend picking this one up. And the 2.9attack speed is the sweet spot for marksman hunters.
Just use it. They are understandably not worth very much, no-one in their right mind would pay 200 g for one (paid 50 g for mine). If you have that kind of money it means you probably have a main, and if you do your little hunter is using the heirloom version of this with 40 crit/hasterating scope, which you can't fit into this. 40 critrating is almost 4 % at 53, so the heirloom beats the "true" epic even on the same level.
I've found one of this from a ice thistle matriarch in winterspring
I just got this gun as a lvl 53 Dwarfen marksman hunter and really like it.
Does anyone have information how to upgrade this gun? What scope would make sense? Sniper scope or is there a better upgrade.
Can I enchant the gun? It is stating im my profile for the gun "one enchant missing".
What Enchants would be helpful?Apologies for the newby questions ... my hunter is my main and I am still on the steep part of my WOW learning curve :) .. cheers
While farming for the World Drop "Destiny" I saw this drop in LBRS. Saw the epic purple color and a letter "D" and almost died, 'cause it was first run farming for destiny, happy but a little furious >.<
I was doing a quest in winterspring, the one where you escort the night-elf girl to all the caves to light the torches. On my first cave, one of the non-elite moonkin dropped this. Gunna try and sell it now.
Yeah, it's a double barrel shotgun and the third barrel is for the flaming cannonball.
Ended up selling it for 175g without using the AH, don't you love it when that happens!
According to Wowhead, the proc rate is 100%, but I guess it's PPM-based, or has an internal cooldown; don't suppose anyone has any handy information about this magnificent piece of old-school loveliness?
I remember waaaay back, a rogue friend of mine was lucky enough to win this in a Scholomance run, and sold it to me for next to nothing (perhaps 50 gold?), on condition that I immediately took him outside the Undercity, challenged him to a duel, and shot him with it until the proc went off so we could see what it looked like!
Now, all this time on, we have two of these sitting in the vault for our special alt guild (a guild of people who XP-lock a character at level 60 and participate in old-school raids wearing only gear obtained through pre-BC crafting and pre-BC PvE/PvP content), and I'm trying to work out how good this would be for an up-and-coming hunter of ours, hence my initial question about the proc (before I deviated into nostalgic silliness...)
I got this today (in Cataclysm) i find it funny that the drop rate from a Shifting Mireglob says 0% i were just "Huh, an Epic from this !@#$ mob"? then i saw the drop chance and i must have been REALLY lucky getting this... I am a priest and im wondering what to sell it for, anyone?
I looked for this gun in Vanilla so much with my hunter that now i've dropped it on Pandaria, years and years later, on a shaman in different server and faction it's a shame. The only good thing is to get some extra golds to buy lvl60 riding skill now...
Dropped off a Fireband Legionnaire for me just now in Lower Blackrock Spire, good luck!
Edit/Update
Dungeons and Raids
Lower Blackrock Spire
Normal
- Firebrand Legionnaire | 10 Runs
- Smolderthorn Mystic | 280 Runs
- Spirestone Battle Mage | 86 Runs
- Spire Scarab, | 320 runs
Bought this off the AH a long time ago and really like it. I don't really recognize the proc much but the attack speed and top end damage are great. Not sure when the first real upgrade will come in the Outlands as I have just got around to moving my hunter out there.
stats of bloodseeker are very low,Blastershot Launcher is better.
I got mine off a scarlet spellbinder... but it was in the Western Plaguelands
First faulty icon you notice or something?
or is that a scope on top?
I just paid 75G for this cannon...Still debating if I should sell @ AH for 200-300G or equip on my 54 hunter..... Mmm the possibilities
Well on my server the cost around 200g but i bougth mine for 57g
Update: ok, now it's proc'ing, went into Sunken Temple and it proc'd about once every 2nd or 3rd pull. That's what I expected. I guess it doesn't proc against lower level mobs or something. Unfortunately no fireball flies out though, you just see it in the combat log. But the cannonball it crit for 100 once, and usually the cannonball crits were around ~75. Destroyed the damage meters with as BM spec 41/1/3 (lvl 54), even with a Shadowpriest and Warlock in the group. The priest ran the dmg meter near the end, I was second, he was first, and I asked if my pet was included, which it wasn't
Update: Just spent an hour grinding Deadwood Furbolgs in northern Felwood, and the Canonball proc'd almost every pull, sometimes twice. That's a nice, useful bit of extra dps. Great weapon.
I bought this baby on AH for 35g ^^. I'm 60 now and im still using it. It procs like hell and its a very good gun. I think of switching it for
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24389 when i hit 61.
when hit level 60,dps warriors and rogues can replace this with http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17072 because of the 1% more crit.
what the...you're right!
One these dropped today in Lower Spire, of course the rogue needed it...
Yar yar hump hump.
Bought this today at 100g for my 53 hunter, so far regret it. Went straight to Dun Garok near Tarren Mill to help a guildie quest there, and I killed all the elite dwarves and not a single proc of the flaming cannonball. Then rode up to Strahnbad to kill Baron Vardus, cleared the trash mobs, killed the Baron, and still no proc. The cannonball proc must be about .00001% or something, whatever it is, the cannonball seems just a once-in-a-blue-moon novelty rather than something that will make a difference in pvp or anything (unlike, for example, Don Santos Famous Hunting Rifle, which procs quite frequently). You may as well ignore it when deciding whether to purchase the gun, rather make your decision on whether the dps and weapon speed justify the price.
got mine off of a scarlet spellbinder in the eastern plaguelands
i just got this off a Twilight Cultist in Silithis. dont need it seeing that im a lv 85 warrior but i will be putting it up in the AH soon....maybe. :D
Dropped for me today off of a Scarlet Lumberjack in Western Plaguelands.
