Gut Ripper

Got mine right at level 32... xD Was a fantastic dagger at 40, and it still is at 49! Just the other day I did a eviserate for 1543! As Assan said, great for Dagger/Dagger Spec, or Dagger/Sword! I put fiery on it, as FroRev said, +15 to Agility is a large investment for a 8-10 level weapon. This may be something you only want to buy once you've saved up your mount, since that strikes to be more important. With great sinister strike crits, backstabs, ambushes, and eviserates, you will certainly not regret getting this as a Rogue!

This is a great dagger to have, and it's not unique so you can have two of them at the same time!

Highest chance to drop is off a rare spawn in the hinderlands, very nice dagger 40-49, have this in main hand and widowmaker in off hand, and once I get another dagger Gut Ripper will prolly go to my off hand.

Got this for my alliance shaman for when she hits 40, along with The Ziggler. Looks awesome, I can't wait.

That's a terrible, terrible idea. You ideally want slower weapons for duel wield enhancement, as Windfury and Stormstrike are not normalized and thus get greater damage/AP gains from weapons that are 2.5 or greater speed. I'd recommend a Heaven's Light mainhand with a Wirt's Third Leg for level 40, though they are less actual DPS you will do more damage through WF and SS using them. As for rogues, this dagger is good...but honestly, why pay up the nose in the AH when you can pick up a Satyr's Lash from Maraudon 5 levels later? It has nearly the same top-end damage, the proc on it ignores armo

Faster weapon = more hits, more crits, constant flurry, constant 10% attack power buff, more damage. Less burst on WF and SS, but it depends on what you are going for. Just because you think that it is a terrible idea, does not mean that it is.

How does the "wound" thing work, is it instant?

Yes the wound is instant, hits for around 100 dmg if i remember correctly.

This is a great rogue main hand dagger. I have a dagger/dagger stealth rogue at lvl 42, I have two Gut Rippers with +15agil enchant on each. I am all but invincible to mobs my level, I can take 3-4 at a time because the DPS is so great. Happy Hunting. :)

Would this be anygood for a 40 dual wield shammy. im going to use the Mallet of Zul'Farrak and this dual wielding which should i put in main hand.

Now if only it was for level 39 instead of 40, it would make many twinks happy :)

Dropped , for me, somewhere in zul'farrakk.....i think when ur unlocking the cages to free the prisoners....then theres lots of mobs..one of those mobs dropped it for me, hope this helps :)

I was in Maraudon lvling my DK's enchanting. And i came accross one of those stone elementals with the train of smaller ones behind it. I was about to just walk away from it. But i hopes that there might be an uncommon item in there to disenchant i took a look. And just my luck Gut Ripper was in there.lol Right Time,Right Place. :D

Possibly one of the most unappreciated low-level BoE epics, the Gut Ripper has become much more useful post-Cataclysm. Battleground brackets are smaller now, and this weapon is very potent in the hands of a level 40-44 Rogue in PvP. It has 10 more top-end than the level 44 version of the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=42944]Balanced Heartseeker heirloom[/url], can take Burning Crusade enchantments, and has a good proc (that won't break Gouge, Blind, etc) with a decent proc rate. With a [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=38947]+20 agility enchant[/url] (vs. a +15 agility enchant on the heirloom) you lose only 2 Agility and a bit of hit and crit. 10 top-end is huge, especially considering how much harder that makes your Ambush/Backstab hit. Level 44 twinks may not exist, but that works to your advantage -- this puppy will probably be cheap, and you'll have a lot of fun with your Rogue until he graduates from the bracket.

I managed to get one to drop, how much will it go for in AH?

For moggers: This is the only model with the Green/Silver color combination on the handle. Not that you would ever be able to see it, but FYI.

This dropped in the Warpwood Quarter of Diremaul for me! It's the east section, dropped off the imps around the satyrs. Maybe took me 8 or 9 runs. Good luck!
