Indeed, random world drop. A comparable gem is available from Honor Hold/Thrallmar - 8 damage instead of 9, but far easier to acquire.

Honor Hold/Thrallmar gem, however, is unique. This gem is not.

it may be easier to get, but it is unique-equipped meaning you can only have one of the Stark Blood Garnets (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=27777 ) on you at once. You can fill every gem spot on your armor with this one.

Just droped for me in (Normal) AC, off a trash mob before the first boss! Gettin offers of around 980 Gold just now, still not sure whether to sell it though.

This about Never drops or anyone sells in Auction House so if a guildie gets it,Try to get them to keep it for you.

will this sell for 700g or more? cos this just dropped for me and none on AH, so i'm not sure how much should i sell it :(

^agree^ i put mine up on a low pop server and it was by its self sold in 20min at Wowhead price of 700g i wish i had asked for more.

some stupid guy sold it on ah for 15Gold :) and now i got it :)

Same here :) Some guy put it up for 9g since there weren't any other. Things like that makes me happy that i use BottomScanner
