As a mage you wanna socket your gem slots with spell damage / hit / crit, not with these. And if you run out of mana, you are probably doing something wrong, since gems, pots, and evocation should keep your mana filled even with molten armor long enough for almost every encounter. I'd go for this maybe on holy pala since it so much relays on mp5, and int is a nice boost to both mana and spell crit.

Um... what? I think you're saying that with the new regen coefficients in talents for caster classes (30% casting regen for priests, for example), but that's kinda silly. For instance, mages who aren't semi-deep arcane spec (say, frost mages or deep-fire mages) have no use for spirit anymore, what with the flat regen from Evocation. If a mage wants longevity (an often-questioned strategy, but I personally enjoy having some casting-endurance as a mage), they can skip Mage Armour and use, say, Molten Armour or even Frost Armour without losing too much in the way of mana regen, what with being
