I use this as my Mainhand on my 29 Twink Rogue. It works well, my ambush crits can be upwards of 550 on cloth. I have fiery on it as there are better twink weapons to use +15 agi and crusader on (WSG revered weapons). When both proc it deals plenty of damage. However, I would not recommend this as a weapon to put your big enchants on.

CotS owns. Everyone says 'noob, caster weapon!' because of the +int on the blade. The dps on this dagger rocks, the shadowbolt proc rocks, and if you throw fiery on it you are gonna have insane dps. Offhand WSG rep dagger with +15agil and you'll be rocking other twinks

It'd be nice if they'd get rid of the Int, since it really isn't a caster weapon. I guess it'd be good for Ehancement Shammy, since they melee and do need int. Still, +2 agil would be better. QQ moar, beggers can't be choosers.

Torturing Poker is probably the best pure dps weapon for a 29 rogue its for one hand and is not unique duel wielding two of those i think would be your best shot or since this is BoE you should get two pokers and if you dont like it just buy one of these. However the poker does have a low drop rating. -Drops in Sm Gy off the interagator

that is most definately NOT TRUE... Torturing Poker is BOP and this in the mh for the higher ambush with torturing poker in the offhand with +15agi is MUCH better. Rogues want the hardest hitting weapon in their main hand and the highest dps weapon in their offhand btw if you fully enchant everything on a rogue you shouldn't have to worry about losing your stats on your weapons everything else is going to be much better

I would disagree, +15 agility for a rogue is much more useful than +5 to damage. the agility will increase your damage because it will gives you an additional ~15 to attack power, and at level 29 it will raise your dodge(for a rogue) by ~3.5% it will also increase you crit chance by ~2%. (* all ~ signs mean approximately, the percentages are taken from my personal 29 rogue so they should be accurate)

This weapon has a too low DPS to be used throughout the whole fight. My point is that you can Ambush and Backstab with this thing (what it's the single best for) and equip a higher DPS, +agi/Lifestealing enchanted weapon afterwards using a item switch macro. This will increase your damage done more than keeping this weapon enchanted with +agi in your main hand.

A macro could look like this for backstab: #showtooltip Backstab /equip 16 Claw of the Shadowmancer /equip 17 <Your offhand weapon> /use Backstab /equip 16 <Your combat weapon> /equip 17 <Your offhand combat weapon> This should instantly switch weapons, doing a backstab, and then immidiatly switching back weapons ;). Of course for Ambush, you just have to switch the Backstab with Ambush. Simple as that ;)

Although swapping weapons triggers the GCD, it does not require the GCD to be finished in order to be done. A macro such as: /cast Ambush /equip 16 <weapon name> would use the ambush ability then swap the weapon and do it all within 1 GCD because the weapon swap would happen after the Ambush's GCD was triggered but not finished.

This wep is the best i got it with sentinal's blade and lifestealing would go great with this cause it already does shadow Dmg with it and then it takes 30 health from the other person and give you the 30 health and then takes an extra 35 from the shadow dmg if your lucky to have them both hitting at the same time and my suggestion is that put this in main hand totally span on the 35 shadow dmg and 30 life away if so!

Torturing poker is better I believe. Read the tooltip for it properly, it does extra spell dmg on each hit. Ambush is 275% weapon damage, and the difference between the average hit of each weapon is 1.5 damage (37.5 for poker, 39 for claw). The extra fire dmg from the poker is 5-7. So while an ambush with the claw would be 4.125 (1.5*275%), the poker's special is more powerful than this. Poker wins even for ambushing.

I don't know the proc rate on the claw's chance on hit but I doubt its enough to make it's DPS more than poker's.

Please correct me if I'm wrong in this.

EDIT: Gonna correct myself, the fire dmg probably doesn't get added on special attacks now I think of it, so most of what I just wrote is most likely wrong.

BUTBUTBUT Poker's fire dmg goes through blessing of protection so you can give that annoying pala a bit of spell pushback when he's healing himself up! Okay I'm being desperate now, but I won't be switching my poker for this claw regardless.

personaly i think Claw of the Shadowmancer is best dagger just because of the extra damage but Torturing poker is awsome too because of the extra fire damage so i would say these 2 daggers are equally as good for the average 29 twink rogue.

The Torturing poker has nice top end damage, and about 5 more DPS than the claw, but the extra fire damage is NOT factored into BS and Ambush hits. The claw hits 2 points harder, and also is .2 seconds slower, making it a superior choice for a MH, IMO

I agree that this is a better Ambush and Backstab weapon, but for a different reason. You are incorrect in saying that the fire damage from Torturing Poker doesn't factor into Ambush and Backstab hits. It would be better to say that the fire damage doesn't benefit from the weapon damage multiplier for either ability. It does, however, still get applied to the final damage. If you run the numbers, that means that Torturing Poker contributes an average of 1

With the removal of Torturing Poker, this is now a best in slot dagger for level 29 twinks. It has Higher minimum and maximum damage than Balanced Balanced Heartseeker does (26-48 @ level 29) and a strong proc to boot. In low level brackets, for a twink rogue, weapon damage is king. If you don't kill your target within your burst combo you are probably a very, very dead rogue (rogues don't get any stuns until level 30)
