Dropped for me on the beta server. Random world drop, but got it in Shadowmoon Valley. Me being the nice rogue gave it to a hunter friend :)

This would be very tempting to keep, but I'd bet you could sell it for a good chunk of your epic flying mount.

This gun proc's 7.5% of the time, increasing my ranged dps 25.2 for 10 seconds, sometimes, it procs (santos' blessing) on top of itself, and also increases pets damage by 5.7 dps. On a side note, it has a cool green glowing effect from the muzzle when it fires.

The proc rate is NOT 7.5%. Don't waste your money trusting this number if you are expecting it to be better then ilvl 100 epic ranged weapons. Using proc watch, counting specials, but not counting procs with the buff already up (aka partial procs) the ppm is 1.6, plus or minus 0.1 or 0.2. Anyways, this means the proc is up around 25% of the time, making it worth roughly 66 ap for longer continuous fights.

1.6 ppm IS 7.5%. 1 minute = 60 seconds. 2.7 gun speed means 22.2 shots in a minute. 7.5% of which 1.6.

Stacking the proc with a trinket while you have beserk and then aimmedshotting a mage is probably about the most satisfying thing Ive ever experienced. I spent my flying mount money for it, but It was well worth it (only 600g).

Dropped from an orc at Dragonmaw Hold for me just now, was there doing the netherwing quest so this was a nice bonus. I am a hunter, and I'm tempted to use it, but I prefer bows over guns and epic mounts over regular ones so I'll sell it probably.

This dropped for me off the 2nd boss in Botanica. Looks to be about a 5% proc rate.

This weapon dropped for me from a RipFang Lynx in the Netherstorm.

Question here would be, what's better or more worthwile or in comparison at least sort of equal. This one here or this one: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28581 I'm about to buy me this one for arounf 3.5k gold. We are going into Karazhan, but so far no Red Riding Hood event.

Read above its 7.5%. Just got mine recently 850g on staghelm and yes that is insanely cheap. Gun is really nice seems like it procs all the time. Procs will not stack but it does refresh the 10sec. Very cool green bubble type thing when you shot any special shot i.e. arcane, multi, also arcane shots are purple when fired from this gun. All in all this gun is amazing and you cant argue with the burst damage youll get out of it for the proc.

I bought it for quite alot more, though it is only money in a game, so I do not really bother about it. The proc is between 5 and 7.5%, proccs awefuly often. Combine this with a trinket of your choice, like the one from Black Morass (it will be fixed in patch 2.10 for range AP, by the way) and use rapid fire, it's a blast. Not to mention aimed shots.

i just got this gun from my guildy who looted it off an elemental in SMV 2 days ago bought it for 1380g when it procs, i hit up to ~2300AP cant wait for hourglass of the unravaller to get fixed for RAP =)

I downloaded procrate and after 5000 shots (steady, auto, arcane, multi) the proc rate was 4%. Did they nerf this gun in the last patch? Also on another note the proc rate for Hourglass was 2.5% with 35% crit.

If the item has a hidden cooldown on the proc, or if it's normalized in some way, then shooting more often will result in a lower proc rate (per shot). That might explain it.

I found this in Sethekk Halls (heroic) from the first mob killed (called Sethekk Guard). There was no hunter in the group (or anybody with hunter alt), so it was free for all. I was told bidding should start at 600 at least, even though I think I'm going to make a friend happy with it instead of selling it.

Dropped a few minutes ago from the trash before The Curator. I picked it up and it procced about every 10th shot during the Curator fight. This awesome proc rate might have been triggered by the curator's evocation, but I am unsure of that.

Procs Really often, and sometimes even while i have the bless of the gun. When this happens, it jsut reset the 10 second time back to 10-9 -8 Proc- 10-9-8

This gun shares a model with the Gyro-Balanced Khorium Destroyer with one key difference - the detail work on the body is black on Don Santos, and it is white on the GBKD.

According to Cheeky's DPS Calc, this bow out DPS's Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28772#comments. Im guessing it throws in the proc rate of Santos' Blessing. I currently have this gun and love it, but would i be making a mistake not to use it over Sunfury?

Just picked this up last night on the Arathor server and put the +28 crit scope on and wow, what a weapon. This thing does some serious damage, especially when it procs. I use it when I'm soloing with the Skyguard Silver Cross (http://wowhead.com/?item=32770) and when they both proc that's an additional 390AP. Boom, headshot! People will say there are better ranged weapons in the game that drop in the raid instances and they're right. However, if you don't raid much (or at all) and just do solo and small group stuff this gun is a worthwhile investment. Not cheap, but worth it IMO.

How would you rate this gun now vs (for example) S1 Crossbow? Does the AP boost really close the gap with pure highest dps weapons? (s1 crossbow : http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28294 - 82,4 dps + stam+crit+ap+resi)

I would take the S1 xbow over Don Santo's in a second. Although I would keep my Don Santo's, just for if the xbow does less damage. The proc does close the gap when it procs, which it usually does, but the xbow may be better for a MM hunter, just in terms of dps. /shrug. I'll still take the xbow in an eyeblink, if I had enough arena points.

Got mine for 32G no lie !! This gun is ugly as hell, but hey it's an upgrade and for 32G, you can't beat it ;p

That's not a small chunk of gold. I'd love to hear others comment on this vs the S1 xbow and Sunfury, though. Would Sunfury be worth it for a Troll with the expertise bonus for raiding? Obviously Dwarves have the opposite concern....

Got this gun for 1100g and let me tell you it was money very well spent. This gun is right under Wolfslayer in dps. For a dwarf BM hunter this is an excellent gun! Will last you through kara and beyond easily and if you dont raid this is THE gun to get for pve dps. The proc is awsome and boost your dps nicely. I once had rapid fire, beast withing, this proc, heroism and some other buffs going and i could not belive the dps i was doing. If you can get this gun it is well worth it.

makes you feel warm, huh? lol but i agree 1000% this gun is very excellent for PvE and PvP.

This is money well spent only if you can't get into Kara, which should relatively easy these days on most servers. [url=http://www.wowhead.com/?item=28504#comments]Steelhawk Crossbow[/url] is a more attractive weapon for Hunters, and drops off the first boss. The only sticking point is that this weapon is attractive to melee classes as well because of the hit rating and generic AP, so hunters may have to compete with warriors and rogues for this weapon.

what would be the best scope to put on this gun, for a hunter

find the hit scope if you can, that is the best one imo - but almost ungetable; i suggest you just farm the mats for 28 crit scope
