Wasn't AP supposed to disappear from the game? (I mean pure AP as stat, not the one you'll get through agility/strenght depending on your class)

Consider for a moment though, who would be using 1handers. On the one hand, you'll have them wielded by Rogues, Shamans and some Hunters, who would all only gain AP from Agility. However, dual wielding DK's are going nowhere anytime soon, and with the inclusion of the Single-Minded Fury talent for Warriors, we'll see a bit of an issue in terms of how to itemize, considering neither DK's nor War's would get AP from Agility. There seem to be only two possible fixes for this that I can see. 1) Either itemize all one handed weapons to give flat AP instead of Agi OR Str, so all the classes would be

If you're able to get both http://cata.wowhead.com/item=59729 as well as http://cata.wowhead.com/item=59732 on those specifically spec'd characters, then you should be fine. Otherwise, I agree with you completely. [I don't really wanna see my DK in leather, anyway. Scary thought]

GC's stated specifically that they're going to itemise 1handed weapons with Strength on them for dw Frost DKs and SMF Warriors, and Ultima's items are examples of that. I'm going to hate dropping my icc weapons for greens just 'cause they have str where mine won't be anything but crit sticks ><.

in my blacksmithing window, next to this item on the right there's a 5 with a little arrow pointing up. what does this mean? i'm HOPING it means i get 5 skill-ups, but i don't want to waste the mats finding out.

This item does indeed give five skill-ups per craft. I just made two of them.

Don't be deceived by the 5 skill up. It will cost more mats to make one of these than 5 other orange items. For example, the Decap Razor requires 20 Folded Obsidium and 8 Volatile Earth. Making 5 orange items, such as Redsteel Belts, will still give you 5 skill points but requires 3 less volatile earth. (one Redsteel Belt requires 4 Folded Obsidium but only 1 Volatile Earth) - so make it if you need it but if you are just going for skillup save yourself some mats.

I was leveling my Blacksmithing and made a pair of these. Almost vendored them when I realized my 82 Enhancement Shaman could make use of them. Grabbed a couple Avalanche enchants from my guild bank and these are sweet. I mow through mobs. Five stars.

Indeed, these stick around until you can get The Perferator.

i did the same thing! now i just have to get my enh/resto shammy from 47 to 81 so she can use them......

Kinda irks me that this has agi.. the classes that need agi have other options in existing lv81 blacksmithed weapons.. no option for a one hand or main hand mace/axe/sword for paladin/dk/warrior in the lv81 blacksmithed weapons. Either this should have been strength, or a one hand sword option on par with the rest of these lv81 blacksmithed weapons that has strength.
