The mats required to make this item are currently inflated; the Hardened Elementium is fairly easy to come by (either by farming or at a reasonable price on the auction house), but 6 x Truegold and 3 x Chaos Orb (an item currently BoP and only available in heroic dungeons) is nonsensical when you consider that items of equal ilvl can be obtained from said heroics, such as Wild Hammer from Grim Batol.

Save the mats and use them to craft a piece of epic gear, rather than a heroic level blue.

What about this item for a character that will probably never raid and has limited access to heroics? My son (7) has a Fury warrior in this situation. He gets in heroics some, but TBH he has trouble with the mechanics on some of the fights. He's still sporting the 333 mace and 2h sword. I"m thinking 2 of these might be the best he can get unless he goes crazy on archaeology and gets very lucky.

I guess I could tank and we could re que for deadmines over and over. but I'm not sure he can do it. Perhaps if I tell him what to do he could, but still could be a painful learning process.

It seems that as of 4.0.6, the model for this weapon has been re-colored. Instead of a blue/brown/gold color scheme, it is now copper, red, and gray. Also, it is now carried on the back of the character as opposed to the side.

not really cuz most of wowhead vieweres are the 25*% left that actually wants to play the game right, not like the typical noob "kill kill heal i´m on fire..." *edit: typo hehe. yes, i meant 15%, thx aroihkin :P

I just made a set of these because of one of the post stating the weapons rest on the hips rather than the back. They do not rest on the hips but on the back like all other 2 hand maces. A lot of work and or expense to make these so be warned.

Looks like this mace still suffers from incorrect positioning. Just made one for the hell of it, and it still sits way too high on the back when 'sheathed'. Grip position is better than the instance maces before the patch, but still looks like you're swinging it from the middle. Enchants also look like they are localized to the grip. Meaning that the 'staff' will light up, but the 'head' of the weapon is inactive. Hope this helps anyone wanting to spend a lot of gold before (IF) it gets fixed.

The blue version is the original version, which, incidentally, also sheathed on the hip as opposed to the back like every other 2h weap. Not long after the release of Cata Blizzard recolored this weapon to it's current brown/copper/red color scheme and made it to where it sheathes on the back. I dislike that they did that, the sheathe position was unique to 2h weapons and the blue coloration was better, IMO.

I can understand them repositioning the "sheathed" position, but the recoloring sucks. Only reason I made one is the cool blue looking color, otherwise I'd have just used the TB sword with the exact same stats.

just got my Strictly PvP arms warrior to 85 and made this for him, it was decently cheap, awesome mace to start BG grinding with, it'll hold out til conquest weaponry

but this mace looks so epic on Tauren warriors, i'll treasure it forever <3

Well as new dk, looking at gear, this mace isn't a bad alternative, for hitting 85, this is a 346 weapon you have ready to use the second you ding 85, no rep grinds (Tol Borad) no Heroic dungeons to run to hope for a better drop.

If you are like me, and plan on getting every slot 346+ (most 359) to skip most if not all the old heroics and go straight into the Twilight's then this would indeed be a good option, i have several 85's and have done the normal heroics to death, only reason i would do older heroics is for 1st time achievement, and the justice points, maybe occasional guild run for a guild friend, that's it...grinding old heroics is a waste of time for 346's now that Twilight's are out

This also assumes in my dk's case that i will stay 2 hander spec, as DW is superior for dps, but it depends on your playstyle...I'm guessing though this is solid for Arms Warriors or Ret Paladins, with the intent to get right into the twilight's, skipping the old heroic grind

Also to make it even better option, Queue times for old heroics on my server are always ~30-40 min still, depending on time of day, where as the new twilight heroics are ~10 even as dps, and they only take 20 min to finish, i can usually do 3-4 by time i could of done 1 old heroic, especially if i got Deadmines (snorefest) it seems they wanted them to be quantity over quality, you only get ~300 justice points but for 20 min of work, you can do way more per day, than getting about same amount in an hour run of Deadmines or Halls.

Something to think about

As far as I can tell, all of the bugs with this item are fixed. It's held at a normal place on the handle, sits at the correct position on the back, and the glow from enchantment effects properly matches up with the head of the mace instead of floating halfway down the handle. Now it makes a great transmog piece.

Hopefully the model is correct and the axe is a typo. There's no "same model as", so this would be one-of-a-kind for the time being.

That or it doesn't work. I could be way off, but I don't feel like checking.

EDIT: Now is correctly a mace. Another typo has appeared...

2.6 speed on a two-hander? Something is still off right now.
