guys, it doesn't bind. this means farming mobs is likely to yield the pattern as much as any other boe and you're not likely to get anything regardless of how long you farm. it won't be like farming the JC trinket patterns.

Not sure what the binding part has to do with it.... there have been many different non BOP recipes that have been well known to drop at higher frequency from specific mobs... Geomancers in Blade's Edge, anyone? Or Crusader? All BoE recipes with specific mobs that drop it. Did i miss something in what you meant?

Just like how everyone should be able to roll on the shards? Which are ninjaed; along with the other gear only few people can need on. which they "need" just to DE, vendor, or AH (depending on what's up for roll)

Chaos Orbs aren't Blacksmiths-Only. Anyone with a profession at level 475 that can use them (Blacksmiths, Leatherworkers, Tailors, Engineers) can roll on them. And since they are Bind-on-Pickup, this only makes sense. I understand the frustration of losing rolls and having to pay exorbitant amounts of gold for new patterns, having a Jewelcrafter myself, however this is not the same thing as the Chaos Orbs.

How about JC's can need and all others greed. If a JC already knows the design then they'd only be able to greed. Since this is not soulbound that would cut back on a JC needing just to sell the design on the AH (which would be very unfair given the asking price for the design). Would love to be on an alt and win a greed roll for my JC.

Yes what woudl be really great would be if say you could use a stack of red uncommon gems to get any rare red receipe, blue for blue and so on. and then you would have to use one of each rare gem to get a meta receipe. What does everyone else think?

Im not gonna go so far as to not look foolish saying "this is what they should do"... that tends to come off more as "this is what would make this easiest for me personally". I am gonna say the token system sucks. To wait months to get recipes or recipe drops only to take a profit cut if u bother to cut the raw gem... ill concieved, retarded system. So, i don't know what they "should" do, but they DO need to rethink and redesign the system as it is now. To not be able to even start making RARE, not epic here were talking just RARE gems ppl until you have the prof maxed for 3 GD days is insane.

I was farming for cloth using the Potion of Treasure Finding, and found this recipe in a Tiny Treasure Chest. I'm assuming that the burning shadowspirit diamond recipe may be found in here as well.

Check your action house for the cut gems and uncut gems before shelling out a huge amount for this recipe. Already it is not worthwhile to have this recipe on my server. The cut Burning Shadowspirit Diamonds are selling for about 75 gold apiece, while the uncut Shadowspirit Diamonds are floating around 120 gold. It's almost a 50 gold loss per cut gem. There are at least three of these recipes on the AH for around 4500 gold each, but none are moving. The only thing truly worthwhile about being a JC anymore is the JC-exclusive gems.

Had this drop from one of the Fiery Behemoths in Sethria's Roost while I was on [quest=29128] and [quest=29247]. I didn't even tag the mob first; I think at least two others were fighting it. I just looted right when it died and got the design. I'm a non-JC. Important lesson: loot those mobs as soon as you can, even if you didn't tag them, because you never know what will drop. I wonder if these guys have a chance to drop world epics?

This is total bull@#$%. Anyone else can get their profession maxxed in no time, we have to wait a $%^&ing year to get it that way, plus this kind of !@#$ where we have to farm recepies and hope after a couple days one drops? I'm so sick of this #$%^. When my blood pact with blizzard is up this year my account is CANCELLED!

As of writing this, to skill up Cataclysm Jewelcrafting from 50-70 you most likely must use a meta-gem recipe. This is a great to buy recipe if you don't want to wait until you've acquired 4 [currency=361], assuming it's cheap on your server. Bought mine for 160 gold, making the process to skill up really quick.
