This is one of the items that your [item=71634] can help you find. [item=71634] is from [npc=10445], who resides in the first tent on your left as you enter the Darkmoon Faire.

Turning in this item is part of the achievement: [achievement=6029]

The full list of Darkmoon Faire Artifacts is:
[ol] [li][item=71953] & [quest=29458][/li] [li][item=71951] & [quest=29456][/li] [li][item=71952] & [quest=29457][/li] [li][item=71635] & [quest=29443][/li] [li][item=71636] & [quest=29448]/[quest=29444][/li] [li][item=71637] & [quest=29445]/[quest=29449][/li] [li][item=71638] & [quest=29446]/[quest=29450][/li] [li][item=71716] & [quest=29464]/[quest=29465][/li] [li][item=71715] & [quest=29451][/li] [/ol]
As stated by Blizzard (Source):
The Darkmoon Faire Field Guide

It’s your passport to riches, my friend. Y’see, we need a few things -- just some junk, nothing valuable to a big hero like you. We call ‘em Darkmoon Artifacts, and there’s all different kinds to be found all over Azeroth. The Darkmoon Field Guide helps you discover artifacts while you’re explorin’ dungeons, slayin’ monsters, and fightin’ in Battlegrounds. Without a guide, you’d never notice ‘em, and it’ll help keep you focused on the stuff we want. Whether you just reached level 10, or you’ve crushed the biggest baddies in the land, we need somethin’ from nearly everybody. You won’t have to go too far out of your way to get ‘em and each month you’ll get a new opportunity to seek out an Artifact for us. What do you get out of the deal? Don’t you worry, you’ll get your cut. When you bring a Darkmoon Artifact back to us, you’ll get valuable experience (it builds character, you know!), earn a better reputation, and possibly earn precious Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets too!
There is 5 from Dungeons, 3 From PvP... That means there is one left, which is this one.

The book claims that they can be found in PVP, Dungeons or Raids. Since there is only 1 artifact left, and the menu Raid isn't "found", it is Safe to assume that it is indeed from raiding.

> It sort of HAS to be from raid, otherwise it'd make no sense! ofcourse, it will most likely, like the other items, not be a 100 % drop.

EdIt: To those below me, and those who downvoted. There is proof that this drops from raids. Read above comments by Astellan11. Please, in the future, do not downvote comments without anything backing up your claims. Thanks :)

I can confirm that this item drops in raids. I personally got it off the first boss I killed in Firelands and multiple players were able to loot it. Also, just like all of the other Darkmoon Faire quest items, this one is BoE, meaning that if you happen to get it on an alt you can easily send it to you main character.

Please keep in mind that the quest is not repeatable during one DMF festival. After you complete the quest you cannot get it for the second time, as it states when you use an item for the second time "You have already completed this quest". In other words - you can do the quest once every month. Now, to all the naysayers, Blizzard has confirmed that these quests are to be repeated each month. Source They have also stated that the quest drops that happen in the dungeons/raids/BG’s happen all the time, even if the faire isn’t in town. The profession quests are presumed to be monthly. I'm not saying that these will not be monthly. But it will be a month from now before any of us can say with the certainty you two speak in, that it can be done every month.

ItZMuRdA+6via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Also can confirm that the same character can loot multiple ones repeatedly, even though you can only complete the quest once per item per faire. I just did Magmaw and Halfus on the same char and got two of these, you can either save one for next month or sell it!
These ONLY drop from a few Cataclysm raid bosses (the item is level 85) and can be looted by EVERYONE in the raid who have the [item=71634] in their bags

Known drops: [item=71716] from [npc=53691] in [zone=5723] [item=71716] from [npc=44600] in [zone=5334] [item=71716] from [npc=41570] in [zone=5094] [item=71716] from [npc=47120] in [zone=5600] [item=71716] from [npc=45871] in [zone=5638]

So far it seems like these drop from one of the first bosses in most Cataclysm raids, and is a 100% drop when you have [item=71634] in your bags. Feel free to add a comment if you find more drops, and I will add them.
ItZMuRdA+6via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Confirmed drop from Magmaw 10N though, probably the easiest way to get this if you don't regularly run non-Dragon Soul raids, just advertise in trade, 100% drop for anyone with the guide and everyone gets one. Got it done real quick.

Sinthet+10via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Since [item=71715] and [item=71716] both say Requires Level 85, I'm assuming that both ONLY drop from level 85 dungeons (for the treaty) and raids (for the soothsayer). So, no sense in trying to do lower level dungeons such as MC, BT, AQ, etc. If you're like me and don't really raid, I'd suggest you get a couple of the other Darkmoon Faire Artifacts (i.e. the pvp ones) and offer to trade for [item=71716].

What is this? This item [item=71716] starts the quest [quest=29464] that you can turn in with the Darkmoon Faire whenever it is in town.

How do I get it? In order to be eligible to loot this, you must have the Darkmoon Adventurer's Guide in your [s]bags[/s] inventory - which can be obtained in one of two ways: [ul] [li]Receive it as a reward from Gelvas Grimegate after completing The Darkmoon Faire for Alliance or The Darkmoon Faire for Horde.[/li] [li]Receive it from Selina Dourman just by talking to her, she stands at the first tent on the left-side of the entrance to the Darkmoon Faire. [small]Note: if you have The Darkmoon Faire quest in your quest log, Selina will not offer to give you the guide - you will either need to drop the quest and speak to her again or simply hand in at which point you get the guide anyway.[/small] [/li] [/ul]

Where do I get it? This particular item now drops from Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria raid bosses and it appears to still be the first raid boss in each respective raid. They are listed below (drop locations will be updated as they are confirmed): [ul] [li]Argaloth -- Baradin Hold[/li] [li]Magmaw -- Blackwing Descent[/li] [li]Halfus Wyrmbreaker -- Bastion of Twilight[/li] [li]Shannox -- Firelands[/li] [li]Nezir -- Throne of the Four Winds[/li] [li][npc=55265] -- [zone=5892] this now includes LFR [small][editor's note: drop rates seem to have been nerfed significantly with MoP's release][/small][/li] [li][npc=62980] -- [zone=6297] Newly added with MoP![/li] [/ul]

Why do I want it? There are several reasons that you may want this item: [ul] [li]Receive 10 Darkmoon Prize Tickets upon handing it in - these tickets allow you to purchase mounts, pets and other collectibles whenever the Darkmoon Faire is on.[/li] [li]Receive 250 reputation [small](or more depending on your racial/guild bonuses etc)[/small] with the Darkmoon Faire - great for anyone who is either a rep junkie or is working towards The Insane title awarded by the Insane in the Membrane achievement.[/li] [li]Having completed the quest that this item starts will count towards the achievement Darkmoon Despoiler.[/li] [li]Gold - since this item isn't BoP (bind on pickup), it is tradable and sellable via the auction house.[/li] [/ul]

What else do I need to know? [ul] [li]Every eligible raid member in your group can loot one of these if it drops - it does not have to be rolled for.[/li] [li]The quest can only be turned in once per Darkmoon Faire. You can certainly collect more of these, however if you've turned in for the current faire, you'll have to wait till it's next in town.[/li] [li]This item can be looted anytime - that is to say, the Darkmoon Faire does not have to be currently on in order for you to be able to find these puppies.[/li] [/ul]

What other Darkmoon Faire drops are there? [ul] [li][item=71953] -> [quest=29458] = 5 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71951] -> [quest=29456] = 5 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71952] -> [quest=29457] = 5 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71635] -> [quest=29443] = 10 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71636] -> [quest=29444] = 10 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71637] -> [quest=29445] = 10 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71638] -> [quest=29446] = 10 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [li][item=71715] -> [quest=29451] = 15 x Darkmoon Prize Tickets[/li] [/ul]

Either you got totally ripped off, or the economy on my server is all screwed up... They're going for only about 1g on my server and there's always a ton of them on there... Which sucks, cuz I have like 5 I'm trying to sell since I get a new one each week

Etreum+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I just checked for the heck of it and they are down to 20 gold. But that tends to happen when a new item comes out, they are sky high at first and as more come into the market and everyone has used them for their initial purpose the bottom drops. The other artifacts have also dropped down to anywhere between fifty to one hundred gold in my server.

Itsversayce+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Check the date of the original post. The OP bought it for 2k while it was relatively new, and before the item was added to Morchok and his LFR counterpart. These used to go for quite a lot when they first came out. They're down to 50 silver on Proudmoore now.
