The Darkmoon Guide suggests that artifact(s) can drop from raids, which might be the source for this one since it requires level 85.

It is also the only one not listed under the dungeon/battleground artifact achievements, so I believe it will be a raid drop.

There is [b]5[/b] from Dungeons, [b]3[/b] From PvP... That means there is one left, which is this one.

The book claims that they can be found in PVP, Dungeons or Raids. Since there is only 1 artifact left, and the menu Raid isn't "found", it is Safe to assume that it is indeed from raiding.

Probably won't drop from MC as in raid, check the required level. Ergo you need to run level appropriate raids. If it will drop from raids that is :p

No you don't. I got 3 different artifacts from RFD and I'm 85.

But those artifacts are required level 15, so that is beside the point.

Required level is required level to use, not required level to find.

I can confirm that this item drops in raids. I personally got it off the first boss I killed in Firelands and multiple players were able to loot it. Also, just like all of the other Darkmoon Faire quest items, this one is BoE, meaning that if you happen to get it on an alt you can easily send it to you main character.

Please keep in mind that the quest is not repeatable during one DMF festival. After you complete the quest you cannot get it for the second time, as it states when you use an item for the second time "You have already completed this quest". In other words - you can do the quest once every month. Now, to all the naysayers, Blizzard has confirmed that these quests are to be repeated each month. There certainly is. When you talk to the NPC called Selina Dourman she says that "Completing the monthly quests will earn you the most Prize Tickets", which obviously refers to these quests as well.

The profession quests are presumed to be monthly. I'm not saying that these will not be monthly. But it will be a month from now before any of us can say with the certainty you two speak in, that it can be done every month.

Blizzard post on the forums 12/6 indicating that there is a possible 145 tickets per month pretty much confirms that the books are also monthly quests.

Are monthly repeatable. Second time round DMF, all the monthlys have reset and are doable again, as my drood has found out ^_^

when i have tried to do one a second time it says "you have already completed this quest" so you can not do them twice...

Just had this drop from Shannox in Firelands 10man normal.

Was it 1 per raid or was everyone with the guide able to each get one?

Also got this from Shannox normal 10-man - and everyone with the guide could loot it

10 Reg Halfus had it, everyone with a Guide could loot it. Finished the instance and didn't see another drop, so I'm not sure if you can get multiple (like you can with the others).

I also got one from Shannox in Firelands. Each person who had their Dungeon Guide on them could loot one.

Confirmed drop from t11 normal raids (we got it from Magmaw). Can be looted by everyone in the raid who has [item=71634]. Each was able to get one, no roll etc.

Also can confirm that the same character can loot multiple ones repeatedly, even though you can only complete the quest once per item per faire. I just did Magmaw and Halfus on the same char and got two of these, you can either save one for next month or sell it!

Still not seen on AH, we had so bad luck?

@ HolyShield, yeah, I have one on the AH atm and so do 3 other people here.

After just doing multiple outland raids, I can confirm these don't drop from low level raids.

Since it is not a 100% drop, not dropping sadly doesn't prove anything.

Just dropped from Argaloth10

Pit Lord Argaloth drops it as well. So, the first boss in all 4 raids pre-4.3 drop it, we're still waiting to find out about Morchok but I'm betting he does.

For what it's worth, this phenomenon doesn't seem to extend to Dragon Soul. I didn't have the book with me for last week's normal clear, but it most certainly did NOT drop from Heroic Morchok last night.

Confirmed drop from Magmaw 10N though, probably the easiest way to get this if you don't regularly run non-Dragon Soul raids, just advertise in trade, 100% drop for anyone with the guide and everyone gets one. Got it done real quick.

This now (4.3.2) drops in LFR Dragon Soul, and presumably all Dragon Soul raid versions. Gotten this twice off Morchok in LFR runs.

This actually dropped from Argaloth10 as well, so I'm guessing it's tier11+ bosses on.

on my server Garrosh ah there are 97silver lol. was going to buy them all then i seen its a once a month item.

Since they were added to LFR in 4.3.3, the price has plummeted greatly, in 4.3, they were actually worth around 2k gold.

Since [item=71715] and [item=71716] both say Requires Level 85, I'm assuming that both [b]ONLY[/b] drop from level 85 dungeons (for the treaty) and raids (for the soothsayer). So, no sense in trying to do lower level dungeons such as MC, BT, AQ, etc. If you're like me and don't really raid, I'd suggest you get a couple of the other Darkmoon Faire Artifacts (i.e. the pvp ones) and offer to trade for [item=71716].

Does these things drop in LFR/LFD? Can't seem to get my hands on any of these items. And I have the journal in my inventory.

They certainly used to drop in LFR - but selectively so - and drop rates do change regularly. This is not available in LFD as it's a raid boss drop only.

Since I do not raid, and would not get it otherwise, I have been looking for it on the AH. Found it this morning for 2000g

Either you got totally ripped off, or the economy on my server is all screwed up... They're going for only about 1g on my server and there's always a ton of them on there... Which sucks, cuz I have like 5 I'm trying to sell since I get a new one each week

I just checked for the heck of it and they are down to 20 gold. But that tends to happen when a new item comes out, they are sky high at first and as more come into the market and everyone has used them for their initial purpose the bottom drops. The other artifacts have also dropped down to anywhere between fifty to one hundred gold in my server.

Check the date of the original post. The OP bought it for 2k while it was relatively new, and before the item was added to Morchok and his LFR counterpart. These used to go for quite a lot when they first came out. They're down to 50 silver on Proudmoore now.

It also drops from Conlave in Throne of the four winds.

Other new Darkmoon Faire items that starts a quest are in Quest section in the Auction House. Unlike those items this is in the Miscellaneous>Junk section.

I noticed this, too. Does anyone know why it's categorized differently than the dungeon/bg quests?
