If you add an icy enchant on this weapon (I believe the enchant has been updated to hit more often), you can have lots of use for this in 20-29 PvP. The icy enchant will slow attackers and the weapon hits well with it's own CoH of 110-220.

I'm gonna have to say, firey or sader too. But I'll take weapon dmg for this. My friend has one and all i can ssay is this isn't a beast.... It's a MONSTER!! I took his warrior for a spin once his skill was up... I've never seen a weapon proc as awesome as this one. It's CoH is like a super frost shock. And the best part is, the CoH isn't weak. If you get a good hit, and have this proc, it's all pain for your target. lol I would prefer this to any warrior twink. Arms preferably. Should you crit, deep wounsd procs. ( 60% of weapon dmg bleeds from your target) and with the 2H specialization, fun

Did some serious number crunching to compare this weapon to the Corpsemaker ( http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6687 ) Compare the base DPS of each weapon. The Cobalt Crusher is obviously higher (the +5 Frost Damage is already figured in for you). Lets do look at the stats from the Corpsemaker. 28.9 DPS +15 Str +8 Sta Strength to DPS is calculated: Player Level x 3 + Strength x 2 - 20 = AP 14 AP = 1 dps 29 (assuming a twink warrior would be using this) x 3 + 15 x 2 - 20 = 97 AP 97 / 14 = 6.9 dps Altered Corpsemaker DPS = 35.8 Now the Corpsemaker all of a sudden looks like an item with more DPS. Now the back to the Cobalt Crusher. It does have a Chance on Hit that should not be ignored when considering its overall DPS. I have read in a few places that it seems to proc about 10% of the time. Lets see how many times it would proc in a minute if the 10% is accurate [and lets ignore the instant strikes a warrior has (i.e overpower, cleave-being a multipe strike on one swing, and retaliation, which could all proc the CoH)]: Speed = 3.2 Swings per minute is 60 / 3.2 = 18.75 18.75 (swings per minute) / 10 = 1.875 procs per minute Now lets calculate how much DPS this would add to the Cobalt Crusher. (using www.wowwiki.com/DPS calculation table) CoH = 110-120 Frost Damage 110 x 1.875 = 206.25 120 x 1.875 = 225 (using www.wowwiki.com/DPS calculation table) 206.25 - 225 Frost Damage per minute (based on 1.875 procs per minute) (206.25 + 225)/2 = 215.625 / 60 (based on per minute scale) = 3.59 dps 30.5 + 3.59 dps = 34.1 (rounded) dps If you increase the 1.875 to 2 (because you couldn't get a .875 proc) then the dps is increased to 34.3 dps. So now we have 35.8 dps compared to 34.3 dps. For each extra proc you get in a minute, you add 1.9 dps to the Cobalt Crusher. So if you get 3 procs in one minute, the DPS of the Cobalt Crusher is now 36.2 (keep in mind if the 10% proc rate is accurate, then you will have easily 4 procs a minute). Now, lets factor in an enchant. Lets say Crusader. Crusader has a proc that is 15 seconds long. A weapon at 3.8 speed (Corpsemaker) will swing 3.94 times during those 15 seconds. A weapon at 3.2 speed (Cobalt Crusher) will swing 4.68 times during those 15 seconds. With that said it is possible to get that extra swing or 2 in during those 15 seconds (considering if it procced from an instant strike right before your regular swing). Yet another factor involed (if you had crusader on both): Crusader adds 100 str during those 15 seconds. 29 x 3 + 100 x 2 - 20 = 267 AP 267 / 14 = 19.1 (rounded) dps. So during the Crusader proc: Corpsemaker = 54.9 dps Cobalt Crusher = 49.6 dps (not factoring in a proc from the CoH) Final Conclusion: Corpsemaker = 35.8 dps w/ Crusader proc = 54.9 dps Cobalt Crusher = 34.3 dps (with a moderate 2 procs per minute from CoH) w/ Crusader proc = 49.6 dps (not factoring in a proc from the CoH) EDIT: I am open for corrections on my math. I know some CoH's are set with a timer making them impossible to proc twice in a certain amount of time. Please feel free to correct me on those calculations. Also, its impossible for me to factor in a player having resistance to the frost damage of the CoH of the Cobalt Crusher.

I'm curious why you altered Corpsemaker's DPS with things the weapon doesn't actually have: Player Level x 3 + Strength x 2 - 20 = AP 14 AP = 1 dps 29 (assuming a twink warrior would be using this) x 3 + 15 x 2 - 20 = 97 AP 97 / 14 = 6.9 dps ---- You can't include player level in your AP calculation, Corpsemaker does NOT give 97 AP, it gives 30 AP (STR x 2). The rest of your calculation is ALWAYS applied, not Corpsemaker specific. 30 AP = 2.1 DPS 28.9 + 2.1 = 31.0 DPS on Corpsemaker 30.5 + 3.59 dps = 34.1 (rounded) dps on Cobalt Crusher was correct. Cobalt Crusher is a stronger weapon fo

Yeah, I realize my calculations were off because of the application I used for the formula for Str --> AP --> DPS was not correct. I agree with your point on the Corpsemaker and I am using it now. Love it.

Currently, I'm wanting to try out the CC as I've been using Corpsemaker all this time. My question is, does fiery enchant proc the Icey Blast of the CC? And does SoC proc the Icey Blast, too? If so, would fiery enchant be the better enchant for CC or Crusader? I'm a Ret Pally by the way.

I found the proc on this weapon to be horrible! During normal questing (yes, I twink myself for questing, sue me xD) I found it to proc once every about 7 minutes, and my character is also a Shaman with Windfury so I hit more than the average player

42118+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Well, I actually found this proc to be very good. When I was using cleave on my warrior, it sometimes proc'd on both hits and then the next strike too. For me, it seems to be great. If you're a warrior and have too much rage, spam hamstring (hamstring make it proc either!) It's really sweet, when it proc 2-3 times in a row, in hands of a good twink, the damage can be devastating. If you can afford 20-45g, get it.

The Cobalt Crusher's unique strength when it is compared to other weapons such as the Corpse Maker and the now beefed Thermaplugg's Left Arm, http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9459, is that it's proc does cold damage. The proc is similar to an icebolt, and the icey enchant, and it slows movement speed on the enemy when it procs as long as the cold damage isn't resisted. And for classes that do not have too much control over whether or not the enemy decides to flee, such as Paladins, (Although the new PoJ is MUCH better...), those few seconds of being slowed down can make or break a fight. I think that piece is totally missed when appraising a weapon like this, and for it to be passed over for a few DPS, (Corpsemaker), is almost absurd. Cobalt Crusher FTW

Bologna+6via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Unfortunately, you're only half right. While the proc is considered Frost damage, it doesn't slow the target. At all. The proc rate seems to be fairly low as well. However, it is capable of critting (150% normal damage, like a spell) so it is assumed to be based off of your spell crit rating.

179533+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Bologna this would be a perfect shammy wepan if you are enhancement spec cause +5 frost dmg just gives the advantage of frost shock going for more wait to to be finished. Lifestealing would be the best thing to put on this cause +30 health gained to you from the other person and then the frost dmg would be rediculous with frost shock as a bonus!

171545+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The "+5-5 Frost Damage" is not "+5-5 Frost Spell damage". It does nothing to help your frost shock at all, it just adds frost damage onto the melee attack. Once again, just to be clear, it does NOT help your frost shock in any way, shape, or form.

151310+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It will not have a 10% proc rate in feral form, the proc will scale down with the increase in weapon speed, so you will still only see about 4 procs per min, which for a druid it might be better to use a weaon with more stats to give a more permanent attack bonus.

joe7dust+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

First off, the frost proc does NOT slow as has been stated here already. Second of all, procs are normalized to be even across classes. You should see a certain ppm, or "proc per minute" with this weapon. The 10% mentioned earlier is just an estimate from people who have used this. Sorry druids, you aren't suddenly the kings of all procs now because of your faster attack rates.

177211+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It was ok as 29 pally twink weapon. But in PvE the frost dmg procs seems to happen at least once in fighting mobs before every death, and once in a while twice. I am lvl 39 and still using it, mowing mobs down left and right lol. I have a green 42 lvl sword with +19agi, 36.5dps and 3.1 sp I will try at 42, curious to see which levels me faster.

ZanathKariashi+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I used this on my pally from 29 till 58. Couldn't find any weapon that hit the enemys harder. Had Crusader enchanted. Also I don't think theres a CD on the frost damage proc at all. I've seen it proc back to back, auto-attack/crusader strike like situations all the time. At least 2-3 times per enemy. So at least for me the proc rate was closer to 30-40%....but....stuff like that is just random so your mileage may vary. Though Crusader only proced very rarely if at all. I think maybe it was somehow procing in place of crusader on occassion or something, cause I could go for nearly 20 min of constant fighting and only see crusader proc once. Mean while the frost componet was firing off all the time. Made Searing gorge till Outland a breeze after I got crusader strike. And a very good leveling investment if you don't have access to heirlooms yet, but can afford a crusader enchant, won't need to upgrade again till you hit OL, can sell all the other weapons you find for cash. I had heirlooms by the time I started lvling my warrior though I imagine all the free/instant attacks wars get nowadays it should also have a pretty decent proc rate. Enhance shammys can also get alot of mileage out of it. It's brutal on a 3 triple proc off a windfury...yes I have seen it personally though double proc is much more common. especially nice if you decide to hold off starting to duel wield till Outland.

Just curious if you have any actual proof, I would like to know if this is removed or not being a collector myself. The number dropped for scarlet monks recorded has not changed in a long time and the scarlet monks also have many other unobtainables floating on their drop table at the 1/10k range. There are a decent amount up on undermine, which could be an indication it was added, but looking for real proof. And if lorddeseis was the only other upvoter besides the +1 you are always given, he was downvoted and it doesnt seem like anyone else upvoted. wondering if theres any proof.
