I use this on my level 48 Rogue. All I can say is: Amazing. The damage out put in phenomenal for the level. I'm critting high with Sinister Strike, Riposte (I'm Combat spec) is going amazing, too. There's only one minor bad point to this, which is the DOT procs quite frequently, which can lead to Gouge being broken prematurely, so keep an eye open and you should be fine. (I also manage to nab this for 90gold, so I'm really pleased with the joy it's brought me)

I got this on my first rogue when BC came out back in the day. I was level 48 and had a warlock enchant it and the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=17705]Thrash Blade[/url] with Mongoose enchant. She then summoned me to Outland. It did not matter about the level difference, I was still slaughtering mobs due to how fast my attacks would become plus extras attacks and agility. I could not quest yet so returned at 58. the Bloodrazor was better than any other outland weapon until I was 69 one dropped in a dungeon. I was on a PvP server and slaughtered lvl 70 gankers for days, never dying once.

This weapon is indeed great for lvl 45 with such a high dmgrange you get some really nice crits.

By far the best 49 twink weapon. The slow speed of it is great for rogues, but not so great for fury warriors. If you are trying to twink, get this weapon and a Gut Ripper in your offhand. Deadly combo!

Actually it IS a good mainhand for fury warriors, You see if your a fury warrior you want 2 weapons with equal speeds, that is best for flurry, so weilding this with Thrash Blade" http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17705#go-to-comment-109154 " in the offhand is very effective for fury warriors.

these are awesome for fury warriors am useing it in my main hand and in my off-hand >:] so much damage and the chance on hit is a nice touch in pvp :P ~for the horde

Gut Ripper is best for MH ambush rogues due to best top end damage in the 40-49 bracket.

Although this sword's 37.0 DPS is excellent for its level as well as its slow speed, rogues may find this weapon to be somewhat troublesome. Be warned that the weapon procs semi-often and will break effects such as gouge and sap. If you are specced for swords and plan on doing a lot of high 40s BGs, by all means pick up the sword if it's in your price range. However, if you are planning strictly on leveling, get yourself a Thrash Blade -- http://www.wowhead.com/?item=17705 -- and then work on getting a Krol Blade. The Thrash Blade puts out comparitive damage to the Bloodrazor due to its matching speed, similar damage range, and extra swing proc. What's even better yet, if you have 5/5 Sword Spec (rogues), you will have times where the sword spec will proc from the sword's proc, resulting in even more carnage.

This is what led me to always wonder. Could the Sword spec proc off of the Thrash blade, and then the Thrash blade proccing off of the spec, and then a neverending Spam of overpowered death? I've been told so.

It did. killed lvl 60-63 mobs in hellfire peninsula as a lvl 48 and from lvl 58-69 I used both swords enchanted with Mongoose to slaughter high end PvP geared Alliance gankers. Between the swords proccing off of each other and the dual mongoose popping +300-600 agility. Then Slice and Dice + Mongoose Enchant attack speed buff. Nothing could stand in my way. If I pooped evasion I could also tank dungeon bosses when the tank died.

Very nice world drop if i had a rogue i would use it definitly.

Got this for the amount of 30g, thank you Burning Crusade. Even if there are swords that are almost as good as this, get it. 30g aint any money :) EDIT: was already enchanted with demonslaying also :-)

I used this in my rogue's MH and the Doomforged Straightedge in the OH. The proc didnt bother me much since I didn't use many stuns that damage would break since I am a Combat Sword build. I can say that the damage output from those two items at the minimum levels to use them is sick. Those two weapons were one of the best combos I have had in the game. The proc seemed to be on the order of 2% or there abouts.

Would it be worth my time as a fury warrior to go out and get this sword for my duel weild or should i stick with my RFD and Sm swords

I've been seeing this on the auction house, and been debating about getting it on my new rogue. I know on my first rogue, it lasted me a tremendous while; I never really got to enjoy a lot of the level 60 dungeons (and thus, replace it), so I had it well into my first trips into Molten Core). But I knew that in TBC a green would inevitably replace it. Checking through green swords, level 57 seems to be the spot (the lowest of TBC items) where DPS is matched (37), although the weapon speed is too fast to match this weapon's top end. However, Foe Reaver (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29913), a weapon you earn just from following through your first chain in outlands is 44.6dps, a clear upgrade. Still, assuming you don't sit around Azeroth looking furiously to replace Blood Razor, that's something like a minimum of 13 levels (45 through 58) this could last you till you're replacing it with quest items. But I can agree with SaxxonPike, assuming you get a run through or group for Maraudon, you can have Thrash Blade as low as level 45 as well. A slightly lower total DPS/damage range; but with arguably a much nicer proc and you save yourself the cash.

Its more economical to pay your guild 100 gold (plus they'll get some drops) to take you through Maraudon than to buy Bloodrazor on the AH at a cost of around 200.

If you need to pay your guild to get a run in Maraudon, I suggest you find yourself a new guild. Anyways, great 49 twink weapon, proc can be a annoying for gouge / sap, still great if you can afford it. DW it with Shadowblade and you got a nasty combo.

OK so if i wait till i can get the thrash blade should i run BRD to try and get this blade as well because both are goin to take a while to get and i dont like time wasting thigs that result in nothing good

it's great with thrash blade for rogues....have them both on my rogue...amazing dmg output and crit's...i'm practically unbeatable at pvp and grind with such an ease.....great weapon...got it for 68 gold...got to luv it

Just got this drop from a lvl 48 Ravasaur in Un'goro. If you're someone who's careful with their money, you might wanna pick up Jang'thraze instead, which is almost as good, instead of blowing 100g.

Jang'thraze is also a rare drop from Zul'Farrak. I've run the instance dozens of times, and I have yet to see it. It's a good weapon, certainly, but if you haven't been able to get it in a few ZF runs, dropping the gold for Bloodrazor may be a better move.

There is NO way that Jang'Thraze is even close to as good, at least for a rogue. If you got Jang'Thraze, you'd be losing 47 top end damage over this, as well as outright higher DPS.

I need a good weapon combo for a fury warrior so if anyone has any ideas i would like to hear them

Uhhh it says lvl 45 so we can conclude that lvl 45 is the lowest lvl that can equip it

very good weapon with a low drop rate i got it off a plant thing in tanaris and have comboed using it with widowmaker and sword of omen. i keep widowmaker in main hand and sword of omen in offhand then after i ambush an npc i switch widowmaker and bloodrazor to make very a effective battle strategy

Managed to snag one for 50g today for my 47 (full combat) rogue...it's great. Offhanding Thrash Blade and upgrading that to a Hanzo Sword at 50.

Good for tanking too-- got this on random drop from Sunken Temple. No extra stats but great dps. Slow speed= harder hit.

A faster weapon with the same DPS would be preferable, really. Speed in regards to tanking just really gives you steadier DPS, which in turn gives you steadier threat generation. It's preferable over a slower weapon, particularly on pulls, etc., so you're not waiting to build aggro on a very slow weapon. 2.7 speed is about as slow as you can get for most one handers, and the proc is negligible for tanking and probably eats up any stats that would otherwise be on it. I'd sell it and get a faster weapon for tanking. At the level you're not going to have an optimial weapon most likely, but this sells well and whatever you're tanking with probably costs less. It's a DPS weapon, not a tanking one.

I've been farming Skymane Gorillas in STV in order to see if I could get this sword to drop. The level on these mobs in now 41, with King Mukla being 42. I believe this change was made when 2.3 went live. Can someone please post if they get this sword to drop post 2.3 from the gorilla's? I think the loot table might have changed.

Man... this sword drop on the average once per 1750 gorilla. So unless you killed over 1750 of them, you can't complain about the droprate.

It's a boe random world drop, has nothing to do with the local gorilla's.

I think Thrash Blade is better and I will tell you why: I got myself a Razorblade and DW it with Sword of Omen. Sword spec procs comprise of 3% of my total damage. Thrash Blade has 5% chance to proc, just like Sword Spec, so it would increase my damage by 1.5% in the worst case. Bloodrazor's proc is abysmally rare, but it still has done 0.3% of my total damage. 1.5% - 0.3% = 1.2% more damage. I think 1.2% would manage to compensate the loss I'd have from using a weapon that's only 0.1 faster and hits for 4 damage less.

Actually people saying thrash blade is superior are saying trash (pu intended). The speed, The average damage, the lower end damage and the high end damage are all superior to that of thrash blade. The proc on both weapons are ridiculous so don't count on the proc when grinding or PvPing. Things happen fast so the average performance ALWAYS beats the rare one. Also the proc is superior to thrash blade's considering your 0.3% vs 1.2% were probably estimated over less than 10s of proc (shouldn't take you longer to kill a mob while grinding) and in PvP this is invaluable vs other rogues thanks to the bleed effect canceling their vanish attempts. http://shadowpanther.net/twinkweapons.htm see for yourself.
