@Sedirex: There are two similar looking temples in the vale of eternal blossoms, one for each faction. There are several NPC's in there, for example auctioneers and profession trainers. So it is safe to assume that these are the "capital cities" of Pandaria. @Tigronn: No, monks are not supposed to get that teleport. It will only be available to mages as of now.

if it were a placeholder for a teleport to your faction's temple in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, the Scarlet Halls would be a very odd place to find it. Remember: for all of Warcraft history, Pandaria was a myth at most. The Scarlet Crusade wouldn't just have shrugged at that Tome for years. An outdated teleport/portal to Dalaran makes much more sense lore-wise than Pandaria. Nevertheless, I want a teleport/portal to Pandaria!

I had not heard about this until today, 12/21/12. I went and got it with my 90 mage and 85 mage in the same party (2 accounts). You can only loot the book off the wall on one mage per run, firstly. Secondly, you CANNOT use the book unless you're level 90, now. Nor can you use the version sold in Dalaran. So, take note. The book isn't bound to my 85, though, so I may be able to sell it to a lazy person on the AH.

This book can be got on normal mode. Piece of cake for any lvl 85. Found to the right as you enter the room. It's not actually on one of the bookshelves that he targets to burn. Can't yet learn it, but it is BoE, so be aware of scammers tring to sell it in trade

Tegre+7via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Also note, you can get this book as early as level 80. Anything before than and you're just running the instance for fun or the achievement. I learned this last night on my 77 gnome mage after trying 4 times. I switched to my level 80 horde mage and got the book on my first run.

Note for everyone: After the boss has been fully looted (Normal lowbie or Heroic high-end), the shelf is indeed to the right as you enter the door, to the left as you face the door from inside the room. There will be 1 short bookcase in front of several tall ones. Go to the tall back-wall bookcase to the left of the short one, and look up above the head of your toon (depending on height; I did this on a human mage). The book rests HORIZONTALLY on the shelf in front of the vertical "painted" books, above head-height (but within arm-reach of my toon), and has a click-wheel. Hope that helps!

This allows you to learn [spell=120145], a teleport to the original location of Dalaran high above in the air much like when you use [spell=49359] when you are phased to the ruined Theramore. In fact, due to the absurd nature of the spell, it can be deduced that there will be a phased area here, quite possibly the original Dalaran being relocated back.

With Jaina ruling Dalaran and saying that she "cannot rule with neutrality", it's possible that this Dalaran will be returned to being an Alliance bastion of glory. Don't forget that Garrosh also killed Rhonin, the husband of alliance-aligned Vereesa Windrunner. Ranger General of the Silver Covenant.

As a lover of lore, this amazes me as everything in WoW right now is catered for balance of gameplay.

Or I'm merely overspeculating and the the telport is literally ancient and lists the exact xyz coordinates of where you would land if Dalaran is still there and you, as a reader, are simply following the information on the book.

Sure, it can be a joke considering there's a dead NPC where you land. However, the clues do point to another Dalaran. On another note, this has just been datamined from 5.1 PTR, so this does make more and more sense. http://ptr.wowhead.com/zone=6611

It's true that he's guessing about stuff, but it seems to me that he's basing his guesses from Tides of War? Perhaps he's just spouting off guesses on that too, but I don't appreciate it when people appear to be giving out major plot points, especially when I haven't read the book yet; in any case,to be on the safe side I only very briefly glanced his comment. I haven't even read the Tides of War section in wowpedia yet.

Best thing today: Using this spell for the first time, with Slow Fall ready (learned my lesson after Theramore). Landed next to someone who obviously did not. They hadn't even released yet to corpse-run.

In regards to a previous posting, I too am a lore addict. And in the book and even Blizzard, it has been rumored something may happen to Dalaran in the future. For sure? we don't know, but this could be a hint towards something. Or if Blizzard changes its mind, then it is nothing.

For me, I had to complete the quests, [quest=31493] and [quest=31490] (after turning in the quest item) before the tome even became clickable. I did this on normal difficulty. Just make sure you loot EVERYTHING off the boss, and then check the shelves between the two destructible bookshelves, to the right of the entrance to the room.

For those wondering about portals to places that no longer exist such as old Dalaran and Theramore, the answer can be found in one of the filler books in Dalaran for the "Higher Learning" Achievement entitled "Thinking with Portals - A Memorandum on Proper Portal Usage" ([object=192881 domain=www]#comments)

Rule number 1 about portals is below - mages have the ability to create portals to anywhere, but the penalty for doing so to a non Kirin-Tor approved destination is forbidden and punishable with death (through I'd love to get my hands on one of these D-6 Permits). Despite the cities no longer being there the portal designations were already established and thus can still be used without Jaina hunting you down.

"Rule #1: Do not create a portal to anywhere but the designated Kirin Tor portal drop-off zones. The most dangerous aspect of the portal spell is its vast potential. We realize it's easy for a mage to create a door to anywhere, so our only way to combat such potentially deadly acts is to make it punishable by death. Special Issue License D-6 permits open portal usage, but is rarely issued. Speak with your local Portal Trainer about qualifying for this license.".
