Spiritguard Shield

Part of the Spiritguard blacksmithing crafted level 85 tank set. The entire set can be equipped at level 85, allowing you to gear a character entering into MoP content. The itemlevel of the shield (384) differs from the rest of the set (393).

Since the itemlevel of the non-shield part of this set is higher than other MoP crafted level 85 gear, and the previously DPS-exclusive Ghost-Forged set has been changed to be randomly enchanted, it is possible that only the Ghost-Forged set will be available and that of the Lightsteel and Spiritguard sets only the shields will be available to players.

Is the shield disappearing when not in combat for anybody else?

It doesn't appear on your back when you "sheathe" your weapon the way most shields too. That's either good or bad, depending on whether you like the Transformers logo.

As of 5.1, it appears that the shield is no longer invisible.
