This makes an excellent dual-wield for shamans in The Burning Crusade.

Shamans get the Dual-Wield talent at lvl 40, making this axe the best epic weapon for dual-wield in low 40's. And you will probably use this baby for a long time. You could buy the Shadowblade (lvl 48 dagger) but its too expensive (200g on my server) compared to Flurry Axe (50g..).

I'm currently a lvl36 prot aoe grinding paladin, and the reconing talent, together with the Seal of Light spell is awesome by it self with a fast 1H, but with this axe, it just have to be awesome. I'm starting AH scouting for this now, hope I find it before I hit lvl42. Proc rate of Judge of Light(the judgement from Seal of light) is 50% regardless of the weaponspeed. I currently use a 1.6 speed axe, and I get healed so much, I can take down 10 mobs my lvl+1 in one fast pull. Edit: just bought the axe on AH for 250g, I just had to have it, slapped a Crusader on instantly. I'm now lvl38, hope

While theory crafting and testing has proven beyond any form of doubt that a fast off-hand is bad for a shaman pursuing good WF based dps, this weapon is far from bad for a leveling shaman. It outranks any other "easily" obtainable 1h axe/mace for offhand use on it's level in pure white damage. In fact, it is a WF loaded weapon in and of itself, so with a fiery enchant and Flametongue on this baby you'll be dishing out some pretty retarded numbers. WF is NOT i repeat NOT the god of dps from the second you receive it 'till kingdom come. Without a proper off-hand and the rather poor ap boost

while it is true that this is too fast, having good white damage and a great proc can compensate. The warrior and shaman abilities that take weapon damage into account are both on a 10 second cooldown; at best having a slower weapon will give you ~6 more dps if you are spamming whirlwind or stormstrike. That being said, 6 dps is about the difference between purple and green weapons at this level, so the proc is the only thing you are buying for ~200g. Also, for clarification, this is a wonderful weapon for heroic strike. The added damage f

A warrior, or any class for that matter, duel wielding 2 of these is pretty bad. Despite the allure of all the extra swing procs, it doesn't make up for the fact that the weapon is so fast each hit hits for tiny. All the damage you lose from weapon based attacks like heroic strike and whirlwind with this weapon is not even close to being made up from the proc. And your burst potential is very grim compared to using slower weapons. It's simple really, fast speed = bad for dps warriors and enhancement shaman, even in the off-hand. I wouldn't waste a dime getting this item. It's only va

You are incorrect sir. WF has a hidden 3 second cooldown, so it will only be stealing the WF proc from your mainhand (which will decrease your DPS by tons). This axe is just for looks when it comes to a shaman.

From a fury warrior point of view this weapon has a lot of usability, even when you hit 60. While there are of course better off-hands available for lvl 60 characters, you should realize that a fury warrior generates most of it's rage from white damage. Since the proc will trigger quite often, this item will noticeably push your rage generation. I haven't run tests to determine if the basic dps tradeoff is worth the extra rage, i just wanted to say, that this still has it's uses at lvl 60. ;-)

I am twinking a Shaman as 40-49 and i have two of these babies both with Crusader. Shammy is currently level 43, and i don't have all the gear i'd like to at 49 yet. with both crusader procs up and SOE, i have nearly 900 attack power. Of course i am using Dual windfury. Its amazing how many 47-48-49's underestimate me in BGs. Paladins, hunters, and warriors get wtfpwned. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for twinking a 40-49 shammy.

Having these as a Shaman in the 49 bracket is unbelievable. Although you're giving up considerable burst DPS with Kang, or Executioner's Axe, the Flurries will make it a caster's nightmare. Throw Crusader on both, or +15Agil on the Offhand. However, WFW on MH and FlameT or FrostB on the OH. (FrostB can crit, making it a nice bit of burst)

This axe is amazing with protection paladins that have points in reckoning (10% to get an extra swing (reckoning) ) if anyone on the server shu'halo has one i would really like to buy it my name is masacre

Imo, as a level 45 gnome warrior, was specced DW Fury. They were unbelievebly CRAP using 2 of them. Imo if you are going to take any, take 1 as an offhand at most. They are too fast and deal very little damage, yet when DWing you miss most of the time. Specials do very little damage since it is fast, and the proc imo does NOT make it a good weapon since it is so fast. At level 44 when I could get a 2 hander (much better than DW at low levels imo) i quickly switched it, a lvl 44 BoP blue 2hand mace is WAY better than this i'd say. Much better crits on specials (whirlwind, MS ect). I even spen

That's very odd. Your experiences seem to clash with everyone else's. I - like the poster below - have a pair of these with Crusader on my warrior (got them at 42, don't anticipate upgrading them until 58-60) and they rule. DW Fury does not benefit in the least from slow weapons, they're very high DPS for their level, the proc grants you extra rage... That - coupled with the fact that until Ice Barbed Spear all of the 2h weapons at this level are extremely poor for Arms - is a good reason to get these.

When my warrior got to lvl42 i changed to fury and got me 2 of these with crusader on both. I used them all the way to lvl60. I never killed so fast with any char as i did with this. Most of the time i got 70k-90k exp pr hour from pure grinding. They proc a lot, give a lot of rage all the time and are fast for heroic strike spam.

My warrior has just turned 42 and I've a pair of these I'd like to use. I'm re-speccing to Fury and am torn on what enchant to put on my axes. Mongoose is out of the question, so I'm trying decide between Crusader, +15 AGI and +15 STR, and in what combination. I'd welcome any opinions on this. Thanks in advance.

Indeed,a very fun weapon to duel-weild, I recommend it highly, especially if you decide to twink it out with Battlemaster. I have found myself soloing equal-level elites through auto-attacks before I had them enchanted.

You'll know whn it procs by a light blue aura-flash around your feet and a 'rushing' sound.

4274-3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Trying to get 2 of these for my Fury Warrior >:D It'll be HITLARIOUS Anyway, since they're BOE I can enchant them myself. The question is, which enchants do you all think I should use? I saw someone mention Crusader / +15 Strength. What about +Agi instead? I'm still new to fury warrior-ing so I'm not entirely clear on which stats help where, I've just been stacking it like my Druid. These are also high enough level to get the Outlands enchantments. Gonna grab Hand of Justice also, it'll be so funny

This is no longer a good weapon for a Shaman. It's too fast, the WF cooldown makes these weapons miss a large amount of swings which means your DPS is less than a 2.6 or slower green of similar level and lower DPS.

54527+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

This is very true - the hidden WF cooldown means that two swings (or more, with Flurry) after each WF proc is spent in the cooldown. This is a very significant drop in DPS as it reduces your chance of WF proccing by 50% or more compared to a weapon with 2.0 speed or higher.

77138+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I might be wrong but a 1.5 sec speed seems nice for a 3 sec cd to me. It all depends on the fact whether you can proc on your 2nd swing or not. Is the proc available in 3 seconds or after 3 seconds?

54527+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The problem is that the fast swing speed means that the damage range is lower. This lower damage range (compared to even a crappy green like http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1608 ) means that Windfury hits for significantly less than it could. For example, over a three second span in which WF procs: Flurry Axe: 53 average damage 2 hits + 2 WF hits = 212 base damage Skullcrusher Mace: 76 average damage 1 hit + 2 WF hits = 228 base damage

robiscynikal-3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I have a 49 shaman dual wielding these beasts, and let me tell you... No caster within melee will ever get a cast off again. Between the 2x 1.5 speed + WF + Weapon procs...It just won't happen. It's absolutely astonishing for a shaman.

86392-3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The best weapon for protection paladin until you find better with similar speed. Still using this excellent axe even I'm at lvl 63! Don't use it when you are tanking or healing in dungeons though :) It is excellent for soloing multiple melee enemies at the same time. All you need is as much light/wisdom seal procs as possible and this axe is designed for it. Higher damage and sta/int, etc. means little if you don't get enough healing from seal of light and die. If you are Alliance, Vibro Sword (alliance quest reward) might be a good replacement for this assuming you are protection paladin and do "AoE" farming.

Does anyone know if the Flurry Axe proc can proc Windfury? I know there's a cooldown on Windfury, but I mean more like giving it a second chance to proc if it doesn't proc on your regular hit. I also know that the Windfury proc can't proc anything else, so I'm assuming no, but I'm still hoping. Either way, I'll be damned if I let a mage in melee range cast any spell with a cast time higher than instant :oP
