My rogue used this in his offhand for several levels. It is one of those rare weapons that stow across the back and draws comments. It is fabulous for a combat sword rogue in the offhand....fast (for a sword)...great stats. Now since TBC, it is so rare on my server as not be seen again. Pity that.

audir+3via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Using such a fast weapon in the mainhand isnt very smart, especially for a rogue. The only benefit of using swords, maces, or fist over daggers is that they are generally slower therefor your styles will hit harder. Giving up the use of backstab and ambush AND having weak styles makes this a not-so-good mainhand for a rogue. The same thing for a fury warrior, or an enh shaman for 40.

leuitinet+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I agree. Giving up backstab and ambush are a mistake. The dagger for the main hand is a challenge though. This is a good off-hand (to my understanding) for poison application. The stats are nice for the rogue. I would suggest Subtley or assassination: Coldrage dagger/ Ginn-su sword: potency/ +15 agil on the dag. and Firey/ Lifestealing on the sword....... OR what ever floats your boat

If they would ever publish my screenshots, you would see my fascination with these blades. The two weapons you speak of aren't bad. However, you get a total of 38 agility and 58 AP with a gain of 30 health. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19548 http://www.wowhead.com/?item=10823 Same enchants on the Gin-su swords will yield 46 agility and 54 AP. Only slightly less stam and AP, but more agi and a metric f*ckton more cool factor. ^.^

This sword is named after the Ginsu knife - the infomercial for which set a precedent for many infomercials today, among others by the same company. Here's a quote from it: "In Japan, the hand can be used like a knife...but it can't cut a tomato!"

Evedently, Ginsu knives have dissapeared from the market, or at least as far as I've seen. The Eversharp knives, however, are still sold at flea-markets and discount stores across the land. As far as the sword goes, I've been looking for one as an off-hander for my 34 rogue, but not sure if it's a good call. Does the speed of the weapon affect poison proc? I usually tend to put crippling poison on my off hand to slow down runners. Probly not much of an issue anyway, still got 2 levels before I can even use the thing.

This is actually an amazing sword for this bracket, with this in MH or OH. If dual-weilding swords or weapons other than a dagger, you can always use your other stealthed attacks such as garrote. I open with garrote, and proceed to SS and Evis. the &%!* out of my opponent. Ambush and Backstab are minor losses for the kind of dmg gained by constant SS spams especially while using SnD and DoTs/poisons.... In my experience at this level, swords rogue is better than a dagger. By far.

I know what you mean, I do the same thing. Only I open up with Cheap Shot and beat them to a pulp while they're stunned. Often throw in the occational Kidney Shot to keep them stupid for the remainder of their beating.

You're a fool. .3 speed is a lot of difference. What did you say? Speed is not much of a factor? Who taught you game mechanics? Speed in the Offhand is EVERYTHING for a rogue (which is the only class that should be using this). SS, as far as I'm aware, is calculated off the mainhand only. Offhand is purely white dmg, which means the faster the better, because whilst SS is calculated off your MH swings, even more white dmg is being added via your OH swings, which should be faster. The only twink that would use Ginn-Su as a melee weapon is a rogue. Guess what? Rogues use poisons. So this is th

Only if by 'best offhand' you mean best-looking. I agreed with you at first but look at Nordic Longshank: http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9401 Not as much strength but higher base dps and you get a litle extra stamina. 4 str adds about .25 dps for a rogue so most will probably prefer the easier-to-obtain Nordic Longshank. For an off-hand, speed is not much of a factor unless you are planning to use a proc-effect enchant on your off-hand weapon... They're so close that you can pretty much choose which look you prefer.

the only bad thing about what you said is that it is slow for an off hand. as a rogue i want a good and fast off hand, something under 2.00 speed. Also this is a HORDE only drop. that damn dwarf that drops this is friendly with us ally peeps

190371-4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

uh comment on the 39 twink hunter thing, gin su sword is terrible for hunter only use for warriors and rogue. and daggers for hunters is not relivant, protectors sword, Vanqushers sword is hunter stuff for that bracket.

173118+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

the WSG sword has STR, which makes it terrible for hunters. This is slightly better due to the presence of agility. The best weapon is probably the Nordic Longshank for horde, and Loksey's Training Stick might be decent for an ally hunter, thought it can't get TBC enchants.

motorhead-4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I'm looking to buy this for my hunter, so that I can dual wield in style.

If anyone on EU Nagrand has one for sale I'm willing to pay 2500g

Please whisper Kleos/Jake on Alliance side

Thanks.

I'm also willing to pay another 1000g on top if you need to transfer.

You might want to rename that "Swords that sheath to back" because there's some axes that does this too, for example some of the Gladiator Axes (I don't know which ones) The crafted Fel Edged Battleaxe also clings to your back if sheathed. http://www.wowhead.com/item=23542#created-by Good list though! =)

Going in side entrance will now automatically transfer your character to the main entrance. However, this is quite useful for those who want to enter the dungeon from start because it's located right underneath the Fuselight flypoint, which means you dont have to run down the mines abit further away on the map to get to the main entrance as you did before.

These go for a small fortune now. With Transmogrification in 4.3, many people seem to want a long elegant sword that sheathes to the back instead of a bulky, chunky sword on their hips. Very, very cool sword. Wish I could find one :\
