Needless to say, this is not the most fun quest for hunters.
...Which I guess is kind of made up for by the fact that every other quest in the game is the most fun quest for hunters.

Ok i have a Solution for all Hunters doing this quest & it worked pretty well for me...
Here r the steps u need to follow...1)Put pet on passive
Note : if u r doing this quest...i assume u'r at lvl 50+ & have the ability MultiShot2)Pick any group of juvenile bloodpetals & u will notice a pattern where the entire group spreads out & congregates together again...
3)Here u have to get the timing right...Just when the juveniles group together...u target any 1 juvenile & fire multi shot...if u've done this step right it should hit all of the juveniles in the group...this step is impt as multi shot has a range limit of 8 yrds around the target so it is absolutely necessary to get every mob in the group together & in 1 shot...
4)Now the entire group will come after u....Ensure that all the mobs attacking u have a bit of their hp nicked off...if not do melee dmg to make sure every member of the group is down by atleast 1 hp...if u have carried out Step 3 properly Step 4 is redundant...the whole point is that the quest requires u to get 1st hit on every mob in the grp to be awarded the credit...
5) Once absolutely sure every juvenile is hit....put pet on defensive & finish the job...use of traps will also work...
I tried it out my self & finished the quest...the best method so far
Enjoy =)
I'm having the same issue on my Warlock. I got credit for the first pack I killed, but I've killed another 10+ groups and can't get it to count those.Scratch that. It appears that your character has to do the bulk of the damage. Once I dismissed my Felguard and started killing them by spamming Hellfire, I started getting credit.

What to do
Description
You're already familiar with the first phase of the Bloodpetals' life cycle: the waterborne seed. The next phase, however, is not so docile: the pack of juveniles. When Bloodpetals hatch, they quickly form gangs and travel together, offsetting their weakness with overwhelming numbers. These packs of young lashers normally keep to themselves, but upset one of them and you upset them all. For our safety and the safety of others, dispose of them. They roam close by, to the west and north.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Flowing to the North
Ithis Moonwarden is the night elf druid who indoctrinated me into the Cenarion Circle. He has set up camp north of here, near the cliffs of the crater's easternmost edge. Follow the flow of the Bloodpetal seeds, and I'll wager you'll find him nearby.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Aberrant Flora
Look how strangely the plant life reacts to the bloodpetals in the Roiling Gardens to the north. The trees are enveloped with more flowers and vines than usual. Large, sporous blossoms project themselves from the ground where they once did not. The land is speaking to us, <race>.
