Ring of Trials: Captain Boomspark

Part of the WoD version of the arena quests:

The fights are rather simple, and I was easily able to solo them with item level 590. If you're just in questing greens it's probably a good idea to bring a friend or two. Not that the quests are not labeled to be recommended for more than one player.

Captain Boomspark is a Blackfuse wannabe. Once in a while he shoots a volley of rockets that will spawn small Bomb Bots. Those Bomb Bots run around, burrow when they come close to you and explode after a short while. They cause 15000 damage to Captain Boomspark, so you should try to position him on the bombs before they explode.

Dexyl Deadblade says: Nobody has been able to extinguish Boomspark! He's burned through the competition like a thatched roof cottage!

This, of course, was after he burninated all the peoples.

This quest CAN be done as a shadow priest. It takes a while but you can do it.

- Mount your Telaari Talbuk (which will allow you to stay mounted while in combat).
- Target Captain Boomspark.
- Kite around the ring, in a circle OUTSIDE the pillars. If you ever did Little Red Riding Hood in Kara, this is the same thing.
- Keep him dotted with Shadow Word: Pain. An add-on to help you monitor when it runs out would help here.

You will outrun Boomspark and the bombs.

If you try the stand-and-fight approach, you'll get toasted. Keep moving and you'll live to fight another day.
