There's an interesting little twist to this quest. If you don't turn it in during or at the end of the actual instance you are in, you won't be able to turn it in later. The reason is that when you re-enter the dungeon, there are three elites and a dog guarding the quest giver. Two of them are 57, one is 56 and the dog is 54. If you are level-appropriate, you'll have an interesting time killing all four because you can't pull just one; I've tried all the ways. Even worse, if you run out of the dungeon to escape the mass attack, it doesn't reset but all four mobs respawn, even though the corpses of the one or two that you managed to kill are still there (and lootable, not that they drop much of anything).

I assume it's a glitch and I would never suggest it's poor design work, particularly after WoD, which I think is brilliant. But it is pretty terminal: don't turn it in, you lose it, unless you can convince a higher-level from your guild to swat the mobs around the quest giver.

Description

The black dragonkin Overlord Wyrmthalak oversees the forces of the Lower Spire, who are nearly prepared to launch a full assault on the Dark Iron Dwarves far below. We simply cannot allow the black dragonflight to gain control of the mountain! You must kill War Master Voone, Highlord Omokk, and Overlord Wyrmthalak. Their deaths will cause the army's momentum to grind to a halt and will buy us valuable time.

Getting there

Inside the dungeon: Lower Blackrock Spire

This imposing fortress, carved into the fiery core of Blackrock Mountain, represented the might of the Dark Iron clan for centuries. More recently, the black dragon Nefarian and his spawn seized the keep's upper spire and ignited a brutal war against the dwarves.

Bosses in the Adventure Guide, in order: Highlord Omokk, Shadow Hunter Vosh'gajin, War Master Voone, Mother Smolderweb, Urok Doomhowl, Quartermaster Zigris, Halycon, Gizrul the Slavener, Overlord Wyrmthalak.

Entrance: Blackrock Stronghold, Burning Steppes at 27.7, 25.8.

Instance text, bosses and entrances are the client’s Adventure Guide data.
