Not sure why this has a big cooldown while Saronite to Titanium can be done over and over again.

I know there are already comments about this spell's daily transmute cooldown, but I just wanted to let everyone know that as of 5.3, it still uses your daily cooldown. You can transmute Truegold all day long, but not this low-level transmutation. I submitted a suggestion to Blizzard to remove the cooldown, for what it's worth.
Very useless in my opinion. Two day cooldown for about 30s profit. Way better to use the cooldown on your stone for elemental or arcanite transmutations.
Tooltip
Turns a bar of Mithril into a bar of Truesilver.

I am really wondering why 1 for 1 bar with such a long cooldown? Because of convenience? To not overflood the market with cheap Truesilver?
20 days of CD for just one stack? I think I can mine much more that that within 20 days on my miner.
There are many possible solutions to this to not overflood the market. 4 - 8 bars for 1 day CD, or even 10 - 12 bars for 2 days maybe even 3 days CD.
Or take the opposite approach. 1 bar every 2, 3 or 4 hours worth of CD.
Why is there no "material" > Silver transmute?
Truesilver is not that common. You might wander for hours around Mithril ore spawn sites and not find a single vein. Also Truesilver is really really useful to jewelcrafters for quite a range of skill points.
Even though Truesilver is not that common a miner could find more than one bar in less than 23. Like Rastafa said its not worth that cool down for a 23s profit.
I am an xmute master and I have not gotten a single extra with this particular xmute. A guildie gave me 23 bars of mithril to xmute and nothing...a straight 23 truesilver bars have come out of it. I was just wondering if any other xmute master was having the same issue.
Transmutes now reset at midnight server time rather than a fixed number of hours.
The top of the tooltip states clearly "1 sec cooldown". This is deceptive at best. I did my first transmute yesterday and if I recall correctly, the cooldown was 3 hours. I did my next transmute just now, and the cooldown is now 7 hours.
Any explanation?
On my server it's more like a 1.5g profit. I don't know if the economy changed or if it's just my server. In my opinion it's not superfantastic, but it's worth doing every day that log in if you don't have anything more profitable to transmute. Why not use it?
It requires alchemy 225, and cooldown is 1 day.
for a 23 hour cooldown. your better off just asking a fellow guild miner to send you 1 truesilver bar. in 23 hours if you asked a couple of miners. im sure you could a stack or two instead of just 1 bar.
ah thanks for the tip now i know id better use transmutes in weekends and vacations at midnight
Because, despite the update of quests in cataclysm, they neglected to properly update the professions.
Transmute: Mithril to Truesilver share cooldown with Transmute: Truegold.
It means that you can make one a day and the cooldown reset at midnight.
As of Patch 5.1 this takes up your daily transmute still, locking you out of a few transmutes, inlcuding:
Living Steel
Pyrium Bar
Living Elements
Lich King level Epic Gem transmutes
Lich King level elemental transmutes
Iron to Gold
As of 6.2.x this recipe still triggers the daily transmute cooldown, making other transmutes ( such as WoD's Savage Blood, and old ones) unavailable.
Useful at 225+ if you're leveling an alchemist and don't mind waiting a day between skillups.
Transmutation mastery (usually) only procs with non-grey items, with orange transmutes having the highest proc rate. I've also heard that it only works with the transmutes that you learn in outland/northrend but I AM NOT SURE.
No, the cooldown is just short of two days - something like 47 hours.
