Advanced Mining

A nice trick is to enchant this onto low-level cloth gloves, like Light Cloth Gloves or Thin Cloth Gloves that don't soulbind. You can then pass it around to friends and alts.

It makes a big difference leveling up mining. Everytime you're almost high enough to reach some new ore, and would have to miss being able to mine one of them, and miss the skillup for it too, you can just slip on the gloves and get your skillup. ;) This is significant, because it doesn't just shift the range of nodes that can skillup by 5; it expands the range by 5, which means more nodes at any one time can give skillups.

And also if you have goblin engineering with this you can also make the goblin engineering helm

adding up to a total of +10 mining this could be an invaluable asset. Making you able to mine in outlands at only 290 skill.

unfortunately the helm is mail so if you are a rogue, mage, warlock, druid, or a priest. I believe the highest +mining you can get is 5.

You don't lose levels from using the gloves, they add to your cap, not to your base skill. So when veins are a lower color, you can still gain points the same amount as if you don't have them. Basically adds to your cap, not to your base.
