And what if I want to learn Rank 2(Bite)?
Am i supposed to tame a mob with the Rank 2(Bite) to learn it to my own pet again or is it possible to learn rank 2 at the pet trainer after a certain amount of time?
if i want to learn bite rank 3 does that mean i have to learn rank 1 and 2 first

Yep, to learn higher versions of skills is the same thing. Find a beast, tame it, and if it has Bite Rank 2, fight with it a few times and you'll be able to teach your other pet's that.
Concerning hunter's pet, it is exactly the same spell than Claw or Smack.
No, you can skip ranks. This is useful when you have a high lvl pet and you wish to train the highest possible rank. You simply tame (and abandon) a pet with a higher rank of a certain ability, learn it, and then apply it to your favorite pet.
Ravagers can be found in Bloodmyst and are popular for this need
First off make sure that when you're fighting with the Spider that you have 'Bite' on auto-cast. If the pet doesn't use the ability you want to learn you won't learn it. Continue to fight with the spider until you get a message in your chat window saying you have learned the ability. It may take awhile - allowing the spider to do all of the fighting can sometimes speed up the process. After you've learned the ability, reclaim your cat and you should have the ability listed in your Beast Training window.
The devs told us exactly how the Hunter pet ability Bite works at the link below.

Q: Can you confirm what the base damage values of Bite and Basic Attack should be?
Bite is a bit odd in that it uses the master's attack power, 33.3% of the master's AP.
"Basic Attack" is what we refer to when meaning Bite, Smack, Claw, etc.
I'm guessing you meant auto attacks, though. Hunter pets should have no 'base weapon damage', just auto attack damage from their AP.
please help me i have tamed Elwynn forest: Forest spider (5-6) and i killed 3 enemy,s with tahat spider but nothing hapened i have cat lwl 20 its nightsaber stalker and how can i make that atack on my stalker from that spider? sorry for some mistakes cause i,m from lithuania:)
Its a pity that they screwed up the bite skill in 3.0.2, since i used bite cause it had a cooldown, which gave the growl skill some power to use, while, its new focus status, makes it a pretty crap skill like the other focus dumps.
oh well.
Pets used to be so cool and had a lot of depth to them... now everything is automated and there is pretty much zero choice or effort necessary to use a pet.
