I greatly doubt whether this is the optimal choice. For a modest 2 saronite more, you can craft the Savage Saronite Hauberk. My anecdotal evidence? 3 Daunting Handguards crafted at 437 skill. Zero skillups... followed by 3 Savage Sarnoite Hauberks and 3 consecuitive skillups.
The only reason you got 3 skill ups in a row is because from 435 to 445 the legs are yellow while the gloves are green, but both are green from 445 to 450 which makes the gloves a cheaper way to get to from 445 to 450.
