From what I've read they're trying to make Blacksmithing a more viable form of making money. So most items are becoming BOE. So if you look in the description of this you will see that it is indeed BOE. And no it does not require blacksmithing as a skill, this way you can sell the equipment you make. Unfortunately I don't think anything Blizz does can make Blacksmithing compare to other professions. I think us being able to create sockets in gear is definitely on the right track...

What I want to know is, where are the level 80 "Specialized Blacksmith" pieces? Where's the Master Swordsmith sword, with gem slots? Where's the master Armorsmith level 80 chest piece? There's a serious dearth of real endgame gear here.

Seriously. I spent over a month in BC grinding nothing but mats for my Lionheart Executioner, and now...nothing. I could've saved a lot of time and Gold if I had just taken Skinning instead of Blacksmithing, and bought all the gear off the AH.
