TheWoWDBWell, if you look at the dragon customization the armored version (not saddle) says it is from Valdrakken Renown. And if you look at armor color the silver and blue one says Professions. I think it's pretty obvious it just unlocks the color.

To use this expensive item, you need an inscriptionist alt apparently. Another terrible design pushing away gamers. Death by 1000 cuts, blizz. Metzen alone can't fix your trashy game.
DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT buy this thinking you actually unlock the armor, because you don't! all you get is a bloody colour variant of the armor currently on the drake. I spose it does also unlock the colour variant for the armor unlocked by reaching a certain valdrakkan renown but i currently don't have that unlocked. I wasted like 20k+ on mats for this and its useless. At least if you're gonna make an item blizz that only offers a colour maybe make it obvious that that's all it does.
