The only use I have found for this is to get gold.
5 Mecha-Bytes takes 25 Spare Parts to make
5 Mecha-Bytes sell for 62 silver and 50 Copper
25 Spare Parts sell for 25 copper (1 copper per spare part)so....
20 Mecha-Bytes sell for 2 gold and 50 silver
100 Spare Parts sell for 1 silverYou gain 2 gold and 49 silver for every 20 Mecha-Bytes you sell vs selling Spare Parts (when selling to a vendor). At least this is what my experience is. Not sure if it is affected by anything. At the time of this comment, Mecha-Bytes were listed in the AH for over a gold so not sure if people are buying them for something else...
Since so many spare parts are dropped in Mechagon, and with engineering I get even more, I see this as a way to get some extra gold for something I would be selling anyway.
