I planned ahead for this achievement and followed the same basic strategy. I was a Tauren Druid with Herbalist's Glove with a +5 herbalism enchant. My effective herbalism was 475 at launch. Logged on in Org, bought Flight Master's License, took mage port to Dal, bought Herbalism training. Flew straight to Icecrown, herbed Icethorn and Lichbloom for 25 skill ups. Flew straight back to Dal, took the portal to CoT and flew down to Uldum to farm Whiptail for the remainder. There was competition from about 2-3 other druids, but they were not as well prepared. You lost time hearthing and taking the CoT portal. ;-)
For me, upon restart, in Dalaran, trained flying and herbing. Headed to do circles around the K3 area. 20 minutes later at 500, hearthed to Marshal's Stand in UnG, flew to Uldum, and gathered along the riverbanks. My bff ran interference for me to keep crocs off me so I could gather flowers undisturbed.
Unlike flight form, 310 and crusader did wonders, except I am pretty sure I fly in lots of areas and flowers fail to load up as fast as I enter.I am a 2nd time champ at this, and very proud of it (oh god yes, how can you not be, its FLOWERS!), but I doubt it'll happen again.

I got this on my druid on my US realm 40 minutes after I was able to get online. About 3:50 AM. I didn't expect a player like me could get it, but being a druid with flight form and having a solid strategy and some luck did well I guess.
Logged in in dalaran trained herbalism and flight master's license, flew to storm peaks and herbed icethorn and lichbloom from 450-500. Hearthed to Dalaran, took the portal to cavern's of time, flew to Uldum to gather Whiptail (req 500) found along the rivers mostly. Mostly had to deal with 83 crocolisks, but a few rarely were 82. It was surprisingly easy to do, especially as a druid who has to land but not shift out of flight form to gather. About half of them weren't even close enough to enemies to pull agro, and the ones that did I'd trail about 20 yards away from the herb on the ground, then glide on the ground back to the herb, gather it, and fly away before they could interrupt me. Usually got hit for about 5-6k. Got the server first, was the first server first on our realm, got tons of whispers saying grats, few saying I have no life, etc. Haha, good times.
