Blizzard opens the World of Warcraft: Forever beta

Blizzard has invited players into the World of Warcraft: Forever beta, a test of a reimagined original Azeroth where familiar roads lead to new discoveries and the world is built to grow for years to come. Over the course of the test, Blizzard will invite community veterans, press, fansites, friends, and family to try upcoming content and share feedback.

Enhance the journey with digital bundles

World of Warcraft: Forever digital bundles include the Skyborne Epic Pack and the limited-time Warcraft Forever Collection. Both include beta access along with benefits and rewards for the new experience. Securing a copy ahead of time also grants a first taste of the adventures, stories, and systems waiting in WoW: Forever.

Getting started

Players who opted in can be selected at any point, with invitations sent regularly throughout the test, and selected accounts are already flagged for access. Eligible bundle purchasers also gain beta access, though delays of up to 30 minutes may apply and a launcher restart may be needed. Players with installation or operating issues can check Blizzard's Common Technical Issues and Solutions page to begin troubleshooting.

• Make sure graphics drivers are up to date.
• Run the Battle.net desktop app, installing or updating it from Battle.net if needed.
• Select World of Warcraft from the list of games.
• In the Game Version drop-down menu, choose the World of Warcraft: Forever Beta option under In Development, then click Install.
• Once installation completes, click Play and select any available test realm.
• Create a new test character when available, then enter the game and test the available content.

What is available in beta

The beta starts with a level cap of 20, which will be raised to 30 later in the test. Week 1 content includes the following, with more zones, dungeons, and a new battleground opening as the beta continues.

Later in the test period, servers will open for several hours so anyone can access the beta during a Server Slam window, with more details to come. The beta runs through October 21, the last full day of testing, before final preparations for launch.

• New race and zone: Skyborne and Zephras Isle
• New dungeon: Hall of Thanes (Level 13-18)
• New dungeon: Ruins of Lordaeron (Level 15-20)
• All zone content up to level 20

Sign up for the beta

Sign-ups are open, and selected players will receive an email invitation directing them to download the game client from the Battle.net desktop app. Bundle purchasers may also receive email notifications. Blizzard warns players to watch for phishing attempts and to verify invitations by logging in to Battle.net and checking for a World of Warcraft: Forever beta license under Your Game Accounts.
