If you are like me and are going 'Where do I recruit this lady?' - go to your Command Table. While it didn't appear on the map for me, Merick Feldscar is there with a quest icon above his head to auto add her to your ranks.
I think Gunn Gorgebone is a reference to Tim Gunn from "Project Runway".
