I managed to beat him with the following set-up:
- Ghostly Skull (upgraded to Rare) : Death Coil - Ghostly Bite - Unholy Ascension
- Fossilized Hatchling : Bone Bite - Ancient Blessing - Bonestorm
- Mr. Grubbs : Consume - anything (won't be used) - LeapTaran Zhu will swap his pets quite often, and you must try to avoid Bolo's Blinding Powder when you launch your big attacks, and try to time those attacks so that Li cannot used his Bandage ability right after (Li is the real PITA in this pet battle).
Use the Ghostly Skull to do as much damage as you can, and when you get the Undead-rez, and are brought to 1HP, use the Unholy Ascension (if you get the Blinding powder at that point, no luck!)
Then with the Fossilized Hatchling, use Bonestorm as much as you can, it'll do huge damage in enemy team and they will be probably all alive, still, because of the pet switch. Heal when you can.
Then Mr. Grubbs is great because enemy team has 5 attacks among 9, which are weak vs beasts, and Mr. Grubbs' Consume will heal you greatly. There might be some reason to use the Sticky Goo (2nd skill) to build some you-won't-swap-pet-technique, but as they are all humanoid, I just alternated Leap (for the speed bonus) and Consume.I suppose that a full team of Grubbs-like can do the trick as well, but I have only 1 of these!
I used (2) Moths. I had molten hatchling on standby, never used him.
I almost couldn't believe how easy this fight was. I just spammed MothDust, Cocoon Strike, and Alpha Strike
My first moth died (Amber Moth), But I finished off the rest with Ashwing Moth, which still had a good amount of health.
