It's nice even on a 29 twink caster, seeing as there aren't any wands below level 30 that have +stamina on them. Snagged one up for my Warlock. Some argue that you should get the highest DPS wand possible, but I don't intend to spend much of my time wanding in battlegrounds.

DPS doesn't matter for other classes (wand dps ofcourse) than priests, since they get Wand Specialization (25% +dmg to wands) and making Gravestone Scepter quite awesome. Other classes just go for Banshee Rod, since it awards with stamina, int AND spelldamage, it also is the best one for 29. (29 priests maybe should go with Dancing Flame which has a 37,1 dps)

Albeit much more rare to see but I should point out that mages also get wand spec in their arcane tree. Actually, the mage wand specialization is much better as it only requires two talent points as opposed to a priest's five talents points. But then again, I don't know a single twink who goes into either arcane or disc. :o)

Want the stats of the banshee rod AND the damage of the starfaller (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=13063)? Ok here's what you do. You can make a macro with
/cast shoot /equip Starfaller
Then equip your banshee rod and use this macro when you want to shoot someone. And guess what? It uses the Starfaller ON THE VERY FIRST SHOT WITH NO DELAY. Just put the banshee rod on your hotbar so you can re-equip it when you need the stats. "But won't the two globals conflict with each other" No, because shooting your wand starts a global cooldown, and equipping a weapon, while it triggers a GCD, it isn't affected by it. "But won't it fire with the banshee rod on the first shot?" Again, no! I had to test this to be sure. You see what happens is the game queues up both macro actions simultaneously in order. Sounds like a contradiction but it isn't. If you watch your character closely, he'll start the shoot animation, draw the banshee rod, the rod then switches for the starfaller mid-swing, and 1.4 seconds later (cast time on shooting a starfaller) when it actually fires, the starfaller is in your hand. ITS LIKE MAGIC

What he means is that you can use the banshee rod all the time, also while normally fighting, but when you need some fast wand dps you can switch to the gravestone scepter. If I had to chose 1 of them I'd go for the sceptre any day, you will find yourself in need for some mana-free dps sometime, and after all, 1spelldmg, 1 stamina and 1 intl isnt that much. Even at lvl 19.

its a great deal! really! i'm already lvl 24 and i'm still using this, sure the damage might be a little down but at least its fast and gives bonus attributes, that is important. recommended for the low-med lvl.
