It procced for me maybe 5 times in one game of AV. Possibly the most awesome PvP proc in the game. Definitely worth getting if you are around that level and can get someone to craft one for you -- dark iron is extremely cheap now.

The proc is very good and basically means a free win, but the rate of occurance is beyond horrendous. Most weapons are measured in proc per minute (PPM), this one is rated at 0.18, meaning it is roughly 1 in 5 minutes. There are many stun weapons that are easier to get with better chances, The Unstoppable Force being one of those. (And at 70 make a Deep Thunder)

A little number crunching. If the PPM is 0.18 the swings per proc would be (60/3.7)/0.18 = 90.09 swings per proc Which means the procs per swing would be 90,09^-1 = 0.0111 = 1.11% chance for a proc on a swing

Say you're an agility - enhancement shaman throwing windfuries and flurries. Basically a shaman swings waiting for the "iwin" effect. (windfury/ crit windfury)

The proc is another "iwin" effect. Crusader would be a third "iwin" effect. With three such effects it gets exciting to swing; for pure fun this is an interesting and effective weapon for that dreary final grind into BC.

[edit] i agree with selefi below, DW is better on a shaman. I enjoyed this on my paladin though in the low 50's; It's better than the epic sword (forgot it's name).

For leveling you will find green one-handers that have higher DPS than this piece very early in the game, and as a Shaman approaching 70 you will almost definitely want to play around with dual wield if you are Enhancement spec (not to mention doing significantly more damage if you don' t bother with this item). If you like waiting for a Windfury or Crusader to hit (which is dreadful for myself and everyone I've talked to about leveling as Ret or Enhance) then you'll still have more fun with an easily acquired blue two-hander from the first BC zone. Years ago when this weapon was sort of wor

... yet this is one of the slowest 2 handers a WARRIOR can grab at this lv. It means it's a great PvE weapon now that Slam doenst' take spell puchback anymore. Huge slams for fast kills. It's not too shabby for PvP either - it delivers some pretty solid Mortal Strikes. And if it HAPPENS to proc you won. It's a pity it's not an axe or sword, the specs are better for a pure grinding weapon... edit: Typo

Although the proc rate on this is infact, horrendous, a war with mace spec could make great use from this weapon, the spec could grant smaller stuns, with the inevitable (and eventual) grand 8 second stun from DI pulverizer, plus i imagine the speed is GREAT for MS

Janettie+7via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

It would be a great PvP weapon for a mace specced warrior! ... if it wasn't the worst possible PvP level for an item. If it was one level lower, level 49, it would be a prime twinking weapon, but at level 50, in the 50-59 brackets, there's just so many better weapons you can get than this mace.

This is a great weapon for a lv50 paladin... the slow speed and high damage make for huge Crusader Strike and Seal of Command hits.

yes, great dmg and also a chance tu stun, so u have another source of stunning/incapacitating (HoJ, repentance) for dealing a nice judgement dmg with seal of command. dunno if it worths the gold and runs to brd that it demands

Giulls+6via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The proc always stays at .18 PPM and 8 seconds, it does not get bigger or happen more often as you level. Additionally, at level 70 you can easily get weapons with double, even triple the DPS that this weapon has, and with procs that would be more useful (due to a higher chance of happening).

If you are interested in playing a Dwarf with Old fashioned gear, this is, now, the only choice you have. Every other Mace with this design was eliminated. It is quite expensive. But Dark Iron is not thaaat expensive on most realms. The Stun indeed still works. It just has an extrem low chance on hit. 1 in ~ 5 minutes can be stated as true. Nevertheless, the design is nice. And my dark iron dwarf likes this weapon very much.
