I started farming in Voldun at level 112, looted the mount at level 119 about 20 hours and 35k mobs later. With this I can confirm that you can get the mount under level 120. I haven't recieved any epic world drops during this time. GL https://gyazo.com/6590de2f7e7a885cad1cd25ddd3305ab

Just received Captured Dune Scavenger after launch on live servers (Patch 8.0.1), from Sethrak mobs at The Serpent's Maw near Vulpera Hideaway in Vol'dun. It is Bind on Use, so you can sell it on the AH or trade to other players. Only I got it in a 2-player party, as a personal drop while looting quest mobs.

Got this mount about an hour and a half after Battle for Azeroth went live. I also made this post about 6 hours ago, but it was removed for some reason. Either way, cool mount, regardless of if you choose to redeem yourself or sell since it's BoE/BoU. Got while still questing through Vul'dun, although afterwards I tried to farm for a second to keep in my collection for about 2 hours to no avail, so it could be considered fairly rare.

(updated) I have been solo grinding this mount for 16 hours straight on Faithless Skycaller/Agressor, with no success. (did not do any quest in zandalar, went directly to the zone and started grinding)

Hyrulemaster77+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I have been grinding this for over 24 hours. My group didn't see any in the first wave (10 hours) and we saw one drop the second day. I have over 18 hours into this farm. I am concerned something happened to the loot table that made this almost impossible to find after the initial hotfix....

Farmed 8 hours on launch day, and by now I must have farmed about 18 hours, from what I see it is as if the droprate was nerfed late on launch day or something... Like 1. Lots of players see gold guides on mounts 2. Players go farm Dune 3. Players overfarm Dune and mass sell on AH 4. Blizzard sees the overfarm, misinterprets the massive amount for droprate, and drasticly nerfs it.

edit; the theory was that they nerfed it on launch day

Thats just my observations though, I need more data and people to confirm

I am fairly certain this is exactly what happend. I started farming this mount an hour after launch, and for two hours I saw 7 mounts drop. Sadly I wasn't lucky. Then I was kicked off for a hotfix but came back and kept farming. Nothing dropped after the hotfix. I have seen two mounts drop with over 26 hours of farming now. They were on separate days. TLDR: I think Blizzard nerfed the heck out of this poor mount. :(

I was in Vol’ Dun on my Unholy Deathknight when I happened upon an Alliance 5 man AoE farming for this. Well, being the only mount I cared to get in BfA I was annoyed at the prospect of Alliance scum farming for MY mount and I did what any petty man would do and I tagged every mob I could and let them kill the mobs. I was tagging 30-40% of their mobs and a hunter in their group started to /shoo and /spit on me (which only strengthened my resolve).

About 40 minutes in they killed a mob I tagged and I got this mount. I mounted on it in front of their group and hilarity ensued.

Edit: Bug is fixed, I can use this on any character on my account!

Damn, whoever gave those percentages on wowhead, they couldn't be more wrong... Farmed for half an hour in a raid, but ty Blizz for adding a tag limit, making that impossible after 15 people. So I made my own 5man party, 3 hours later nothing. And ofc astronomical prices. I hope that however lucky bastard gets theirs easily after just a few mobs, they will suffer with another mount.

Yeah, why does Sethrak Site Guardian say it's an 100% drop? It's no where near that drop rate. As others have said I farmed for quite some time (alone and in a group too). I have yet to get the mount. I have received at least every other drop including all the greens, but no mount. What I recommend to people who are wanting this mount for the same reason I'm farming it for (which is to sell continuously until I have enough to afford the 5M gold mount): Always do it in a group regardless. These mobs are NOT strong and can be farmed alone, but the process is a lot faster with their respawn timer increased when there's more players killing them at once. Therefore you won't be waiting forever for them to respawn. I recommend also farming the Faithless NPC's as they tend to be faster and easier to kill.

I still haven't received this mount, but I just wanted to offer some helpful advice. If you go to /way 55 40 there is a nice spot where there is near instant respawn of quite a few of these guys, so it's a great place to farm this. Good luck all!

Doom5+5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

The drop rate has to be extremely low. I did not have any kill tracker addon enabled, but gained an entire level just killing the Sethraks that drop the Dune Scavenger. So say you need like 700 000 XP to gain one level in BfA, give or take. One of these mobs gives you like 210 XP. Quick math, that is around 3300 kills.

No one in my group that had been present for these 3300 kills saw the mount either. So either we all have terrible luck, or drop rate is like less than 1%.

UPDATE: So after about 6 hours farming in total, and around...10 000 kills. I have seen the mount drop once, for someone else in my group.

Update: Thanks to a comment above, it is confirmed that the mount does drop below level 120.

Best of luck to everyone!
