This used to be a high end weapon. Back at 60 epics were well epic. It wasn't seen as a bad thing to be using blues for a long time. Getting an epic anything pre MC was a rare thing if it wasn't an AV rep item. The dark iron pieces despite their high cost was items that many raiders used for a long time. The only strategies for beating ragnaros at the time was get capped fire resistance and this was how you got it. Onyxia required stacking fire resistance. Everyone could always use more stam back then, when you were lucky to break 2500hp as a caster or rogue pre raids. I remember seeing mages and warlocks forming up for MC wearing this, the FR and stam was a must have in a place where EVERYTHING exploded in fire and chances are befor the night was done you were gonna get AE'd atleast 30times.

Ive tried it, and people do want it, but the humongous cost to make it will usually turn all but the most dedicated away. If it wasn't for the 2x blood of the mountain required to make, it would be an amazing seller.

i'm not sure if this guy was meaning 'Dreadnaught' asin http://www.wowhead.com/?itemset=523 but irronically this has since been brought back as tier 7 for the revamped lvl 80 naxx (althought the orginal still looks better imo)

I saw one of the Blood Elves at Eclipse Point wielding a sword with this model, and I absolutely loved it. It looks so cool. I wonder why they didn't reuse it for another sword in expansion like they did with so many other models? :(
