it should have been gone in BFA as the bag there (deep sea bag) was just as easy to craft and was less than half the price throughout the expansion...

Honestly, today I paid for these 226 gold. And I do have Shadowlands, but haven't bothered to start the expansion yet. And I bought like 10 of these without really putting much mindset other than, woah that's pretty cheap. And indeed it is still quite affordable when you consider each slot's value is about 7,5 gold, which can easily be funded by a couple of old raids. And the time taken to get the money, is so much faster, than say do it yourself from scratch.

Now, considering these are very easy to make and there is really no cooldown, 226 seems perhaps a bit overpriced in the future once people start to really mass produce these. What I do find sad however, is that old content really is taking yet another unnecessary hit. I mean, we already had more than 1 method on how to make 30 slot bags, did we really need yet another method? Feels a bit underwhelming to say for sure.

Edit: In 2023 I bought dozens of 32 slot bags: Wildercloth bag from the AH for about 50 gold. I'm not sure why they were so cheap but I strongly recommend them since they cost less than 2 gold per slot!

just the vendor materials cost approx. 75g not counting the actual cloth so its not that much higher than it should be. as of right now 0 profit on the servers are 112g to 215g each so depends on your server... and yes there are servers with over 40k of the cloth but listed at 7g each shrouded cloth

There are two reasons to make these. 1) You need bags for your characters. 2) You want to skill-up tailoring. If you cannot sell these for more than 154g 52s on the auction house(5% cut) then you are losing gold. You could instead be crafting Shrouded Cloth Pants which currently vendor for 49g 57s 58c which is better use of your time and materials for the same profit with less hassle. This is assuming you are buying your Penumbra Thread at a faction discount of 7g 20s.
