Dropped for me from a Strong Iron Lockbox that, oddly enough, has been in my bank since *well* before the expansion or the big patch came out. It can't be crafted until they put a way to create Cut Citrines into the game. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=69808069&sid=1

It seems like the droprate for this design is pretty low, which would make it pretty valuable on the AH since the actual trinket is BoP. I think the actual droprate might be a little bit higher but I'm not sure, because I'm betting a lot of those mobs were killed before this was in the game (and before they fixed the actual recipe so it could be used) so the percentages are mad low.

has anyone experienced better drop rates than the miniscule <0.1 most are listed as here? any suggestions on where to farm this? I'm trying the lites' in DRF and Ulderman, but the loc for the latter is vague at best a little help!

If my server's prices is anything to go by this is actually pretty good to level Jewelcrafting for a bit (until it turns yellow at 225). I was at 210 JC and my only option at that moment seemed to be making Aquamarine Signets at a huge loss. I bought this design for cheap at the auction house and saved some gold.

eerm good for leveling JC? a word of warnin for anyone thinkin that, who then decides to spend 3 days farmin RFD for it, it's bop and unique, so u can only make one before vendorin it for 15s or destroyin it. save urself the effort, and stop bein cheap and fork out for those aquamarine gems!

I'd be severely narked if it weren't for the 100 + small radiant shards I'd gathered before gettin this drop in RFD.

This design isn't actually BoP, it's BoE as I just bought it off the auction house. I recommend using this to skill from 200-215/220 as usually you can get a couple stacks of gold bars for 20-30g a stack and citrine is usually cheap as hell. It beats the price of flask of mojo by quite a bit.

Now, obviously this is all is different for each individual server, but at least for me, this was by FAR the cheapest way to get from 200-225. Keep in mind, this thing is orange until 225. Gold bars (again, on my server) go for 20g a stack. You'll need 150 gold bars, that's 300g. Citrine goes for 1g a piece, and you need 50. So you're looking at around 350-400g to level 200-225. Now, that may SEEM like a lot, but you have to take into account the other alternatives. For one, to level just to 210 (from 200), you could take the Citrine Ring of Rapid Healing route. Which is 10 citrine, 20 elemental waters, and 20 mithril bars. Stacks of mithril go for 20g, and elemental water goes for around 30g a PIECE (seriously, it's insane). 210-225 will have you make Aquamarine Signet (or you could make the green neck once you hit 220, but it's still not worth it). You're looking at 45 aquamarine (aquamarine go for 7-10g a piece), and a womping 60 flask of mojo (this is extremely varied, but I can tell you that a full clear of ZF only produces 15-20 of them). Honestly, I wouldn't even bother trying to level JC unless you have this pattern. Old world green gems are extremely rare these days, and cost a ton. Thankfully, this pattern can still be found realitvly cheaply.

"Honestly, I wouldn't even bother trying to level JC unless you have this pattern." That is silly, to be honest. I just recently levelled JC without it and it was easy. Yes you will have a few hours of farming in ZF for the mojo and in arathi for the elemental water but you should expect a bit of farming along the way while levelling a craft, imo.

Have been selling these for +250,000g on Frostmourne. Since speed buffs stack, there's a lot of demand from anyone running old world content or just moving through Garrisson duties quickly. My own lock runs at 230% in his mine, 210% around his Garrisson and through old world content. Biggest demand however, comes from dedicated pvper's, where it can make WSG caps much easier without costing important item slots. Best Farm Point: DM East. Zone in, agro the treant in front of you then drop down to the left. You're pretty much at the end of the instance, start running back to the zone in portal. Between you and the treant, you can pull 100+ mobs all with a chance to drop this in about 3 minutes. Tundra Mammoth in necessary however, this method fills 20+ bag slots per run.

To all JCers out there, if you're not a PVPer, and you're just levelling, this item isn't worth farming. The recipe is a low % dungeon drop, and the item is BoP and unique. Your heirlooms are far better. Don't waste your time farming this. game ver 8.0.3/BfA

If you're trying to get the achievement Fantastic Figurines, and you're playing on a low population server (likely that the recipe will not be on AH), just jump onto another toon in another server and try your luck there. Got mine for 148g. Then deposit that recipe into your warbank and withdraw it on your JC toon.
