This is actually the best mp5 you can get to boots currently, leatherworkers can do a kit with 3mp5 to boots, which doesn't match this. This is of course ignoring the health regen, which is a tiny added bonus.

This is definatly more useful than any of the other boot enchants for pve healers, and even dps casters unless you want stam.

I've found that stamina has become the "underrated" stat for a priest (healing one) nowadays... Everyone is looking at me like: why did you get those 12 stamina gems (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24033) instead of the royal nightseye (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=24057) Well... the reason is, in my blues, it was pretty ok, but now I got my epic gear and my health drops with each blue gear I trade for purple. A priest who's alive is better than a dead one with slightly better +healing / mp5 imo. So, put the 12 sta on ur boots! 1400+ bonus healing and 130+ mp5 is ok already! - for kara that is.

I Feel you on that one also. Healers may say well you dont need health if you do not pull agro, this is not true. Many mobs in Karazhan are immune to taunt and one mishap and you're dead. Also in the Shade of Aran fight you will get polymorphed and you will get hit with an AOE Pyroblast for 7-8K HP.... I myself a pally in healing gear buffed only have about 8K HP in my 2 Kara epixx and good blues. Don't underestimate the power of good ol' Stamina.

AgreeD 100%. It's sad seeing a spirit of redemption every trash pull because the priests just get insta-gibbed left and right. They just fall over as soon as a raid mob even looks at them funny. Talking about trash in SSC/KT and up. Almost everything has some kind of random target ability or AE that hits for a lot.

It kind of irked me to not see a link to the leatherworking kit he was talking about. Magister's Armor Kit - http://www.wowhead.com/?item=25652 Req. Scryers - Revered [3 Heavy Knothide Leather, 1 Primal Mana] 3mp5 to chest, pants gloves or boots

I'll disagree with this. Boar's Speed is considered the optimal endgame enchant for casters in both PvP and PvE alike (Doomfire, Arcane Orbs, etc. for bosses are reasons people like Boar's Speed). However, Vitality is a fairly cheap enchant that many entry-level healers might like (especially shamans and paladins), as they may be lacking in mp5.

I on the other hand do agree with Dunraven, as a priest or any other healer; if you know what you are doing, you are not going to die. The "unavaidable damage effects" in Karazhan mentioned by Gazzle are in fact not unavoidable and if you will receive damage you get a fair warning in order to heal or shield yourself. (I will refrain from disputing every case mentioned.) Even though a mistake is easily made, if you are competent enough you will not die. And in other 25 men dungeons it's more of the same, damage you can easily expect and live through. Though honesty demands I say that I don't know of any encounters past Leotheras. From my experience I've seen a lot of mages and other classes that have nerfed their stamina for damage (in this case constant mana over time) and they are actually of much more use then someone who is trying to do a lot of damage with increased hitpoints. What I do find "underrated" though would be the speed increase. I find it rather nice if someone can kite a mob better, taunt it faster, ect.

As a priest, i wouldnt sacrifice my major stats (Mp5, int and +healing) in my standard gear, rather i keep in my bags a few assorted peices of high stam gear. in my healing gear im about 1850 healing power, and do just fine with everything up through gruul. typically if i fight will one shot me i throw on a few greens "of stamina" i've picked up and give my self a temp nerf to my stats to push my health over 10k, rather than stacking out my healing gear with stam enchants and gems.

karti-5via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

im a pala in guild which has cleared karazhan (will see gruul for the first time today, though) i dont have any stamina enchants on anything, which is reasonable as i have plate armor for those random aggro mobs and my bubble for emergencies. No stamina gear in the world will get you over the damage garrote does in total, which means you will need to be healed. More hp only means your (first) heal can be delayed, one tick, maybe two. Who cares? If these ticks decide upon your raid living or not, you probably wont clear kara anyway..

Overall this is a very valuable PvE enchant for any class dependant on mana.

In PvE you should not be concerned with your +sta unless the fight absolutly dictates it. If your a DPS class focus on +hit, +dmg +crit, if your a healing class focus on +heal and +mp5.

Personally as a mage my HP is the least of my concerns because most 67+ elites will 1-2 shot me regardless. The difference in having 6,000hp and 10,000hp is moot when mobs clobber clothies for 5500 *non crit*. Either way I will die in 2 shots so stacking stam is a pointless persuit.

HP is important for PvP but obtaining 2 sets of gear lets you accomplish both objectives without having to balance 2 different jobs with one set of gear.

68289+4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Your point is correct that it makes no difference whether a clothie has 6k or 8k health, when a boss hits directly for 10k on cloth. We've all been 2 shotted by a raid boss at some point. The point being made was that a lot of bosses have AoE and/or random target damage that will effect the entire raid. So where health is important is in the situation where you get a random DoT from the boss, or an AoE effect, having that extra 2k health can allow the healers vital seconds to heal you, or to pop a pot yourself. Take Hex Lord Malacrass as an example, his Spirit Bolts hit the entire raid for

Ambusher+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

"most 67+ elites will 1-2 shot me regardless." O.o Wtf are you talking about? Really, do you have minus 5k armor and debuff of pwn? -_- In raid instances you might take that much dmg, yeah, but a lvl 67 elite shouldn't hit anywhere near that hard. Also, the difference between 6k and 10k is quite big, because not all damage is taken from normal hits; it could be special abilites, spells etc. etc. Take Zul'jin (I know that place wasn't there when you wrote your comment) in phase 4 (where he occasionally targets a random target and nukes it), 10k hp would be very much better than 6k here. Same

6780+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Try doing Aran on 6k hp and you'll never survive back to back attacks. Get that 8k+ and you'll find a world of difference in terms of survival. Plus you need 9k+ to kill Maulgar if you are gonna be on the mage add.

45360+18via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Smartest thing you can do is always getting two types of equip.. one with a bit more stamina. I'd get Vitality enchant on a pair of pure healing boots, and stamina on a bit more pvp-orianted healing boots, so you have to choose from when the encounters change.

182057+2via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

"For some instances, it seems sta is better, if so i'd choose Boar's speed for the running boost. It came in handy during the Lurker below fight :)" Yeah moving back the 3ft off the ledge is tough... if only I had a slight running enchant. ::rolls eyes::

41054-4via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

no caster needs much stami in kara etc. 5k hp will do you enough if you know what your doing and the raid is experienced, the random AE/attacks don't do enough dmg to one or even two shot anyone with over 5k hp. and if you agro then you diserve to die anyway.

74798+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

As a priest i have to said, for me to gear myself up , i always follow this order: healing > MP5 > Stam/ int/ Sprit. But sometimes i will choose stam and int befor MP5 b/c since pally can give wisdom buff in the raid. that is 30 mana per 5 sec i belive. also, there is always some spirit potion, scroll aviable from fishing/Alchmy that will help you in raid. and i agree that a alive priest is more usefull than a dead one.

pelicanus-1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

Woozah I must disagree with the 8.5k health statement because you mostly forgot that classes have shileds and so the least hp classes (priests and mages) have the shields for that fight (Frost Ward and Power Word: Shield) so a kara+crafted geared mage would have there fully buffed almost 8k but add another at least 1.2k from frost ward and another 1.2k from power word shield and you'll actually see that stamina enchants and gems are purely made for stupid ppl that don't know how to play their class. Sure at a fight like Gurtogg you'll need more hp but it's perfectly doable without, but healers
stamina enchants and gems are purely made for stupid ppl that don't know how to play their class.
uhm...no..pretty sure stamina enchants and gems are made for people that need it, i.e. tanks and pvpers. However, what I think you meant is that there are people who use stam gems and chants inappropriately.

My mage uses vitality. Its a small amount of regen but over time it adds up. Unbuffed I have over 8k health as it is so in most encounters a an average heroic running player I don't need anymore hp. As for my healadin... awesome enchantment.

hemmer+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

stupid discussion imo......the more reason to step in it's not a question of putting stam gems and enchants on a healer or caster or focusing on the main stats of your role it's about a boot enchant that basically does nothing (-> Vitality) that will make or break the raid and another enchant which HAS a bit of stamina but more importantly has run speed on it and imho that's the real point of enchanting boar's speed, there's a lot of movement in many endgame encounters and that "minimal runspeed increase" as the game calls it can easily save your ass and often has in my case, not only mine because if a healer is faster to run out of something he can start to heal again sooner, dps'ers dps sooner, tanks pick up adds sooner etc etc EVERY OTHER SLOT will be enchanted with something role-specific but with some exceptions (for example hunters...12agi) almost everyone should go for Boar's Speed simply for the run speed, the stam is just an added bonus and yeah stam is important but you shouldn't gear for it, as you gear for higher content with loot from higher content your stam increases mostly, if things get hart just swap in 1 or 2 pvp items, but please don't gear for stam in pve, tanks and tankmages aside of course :)

Rather than pay jacked-up prices on the AH, buy these pots from NPCs. Daga Ramba in BEM & Dealer Digriz, Dealer Hazzin, Dealer Sadaqat in Netherstorm all sell both of these pots in limited supplies at 60s each.

209341+1via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I can not confirm anywhere that these vendors do in fact sell these. I have been checking and watching them for the last few days often and never have I seen them have it, and one of the vendors listed doesn't ever seem to have any additional items for sale. I think this guy is pulling our legs.

311036+0via Wowhead (opens the original comment in a new tab)

I believe fahsky is referring to the health (40s) and mana potions (60s) required to make this which can be purchased from NPCs. However his comment is highly misleading and both of those required potions drop frequently enough that you should never need to buy them anyway.

Your best bet would be to run Magister's Terrace and kill Kael'thas Sunstrider. He has a chance to drop this recipe along with Formula: Enchant Boots - Cat's Swiftness as well as Formula: Enchant Boots - Boar's Speed.

Just got one of these out of a Sealed Scroll Case that NPC "Gunter" sells in Zul'Aman. You get Gunter to appear with an Amani Hex Stick and you use it on the frogs in there. Can only buy a Sealed Scroll Case once per instance reset. http://home.comcast.net/~nirvgorilla/enchantboots-vitality.jpg

Kael'thas drops the BoP version [item=35298]. The BoE formula is a rare world drop, but the BoP version is farmable by enchanters. (The BoP version presumably only drops for enchanters who don't yet know the recipe, hence the seemingly tiny drop rate on the BoP version.) The BoE version can be sold on the AH, perhaps to rich enchanting completionists who would rather spend the gold than hoof it to the Isle of Quel'Danas.
